Colin, Sadly you must be correct. Antivirus AVG has just picked up a Trojan
in my Photoshop setup files. Several other users are reporting the same.

think.

Phil,
I was a bit distressed after 8 days with no install file also.
Are you using Vista SP1?
I guess you have tried updating Legacy. Did you get error; 'file
"apdproxy.exe" cannot open because "ConnAPI.DLL" not found' which I was
getting at the time.
I have no idea what they are but they seem to be connected to Windows
Installer or the download procedure.
My thinking was; that if the new version was interrogating the system before

installing and finding it lacking then I would remove any sign of Legacy and

start afresh.
Which worked.

on my desktop, the one I'm having this problem with, I find the Indiv.usr
file. The next file is iSearch and it's a USR file also. There is no I for
Install nor is there an Install or Install.log shown.
I looked at my laptop which has Legacy on and it's been updated though no
data entry since updating and yes there is and Install.

The file name starts with "I" - it's *Install* . log and will be between
Indiv.usr and Interview.usr (if you have accessed those two reports) and no
way near the Unwise or Uninstall files.

Thanks for using Legacy.

Sherry, I can read as well as ever, there are NO install.log file unless
it's hidden under something else. Maybe there has to be said file but I'm
telling you there isn't one there. Perhaps it got corrupted when I updated
Legacy.
At the very bottom is the following files: Unwise and just above that are
two files, uninstall Legacy 6.0 and uninstall Legacy 7.0. Clicking on
either 6.0 or 7.0 uninstall files givew me exacthly the same thing. "could
not open Install.log file" When trying to do something in Legacy, I get
runtime error 5.

Did you delete the files as specified and reinstall Legacy?

There *has* to be an install.log file in the c:\Legacy folder if the
installation completed.

Thanks for using Legacy.

For the uninstall problem:

With Legacy closed, go to the c:\Legacy folder on your hard drive. Delete
the install.log file. Then go to the c:\Legacy\Backup folder and delete any
files there with the word "install" in the file name.

Reinstall Legacy with the latest build from our website and you should have
no problem uni

RE: [LegacyUG] Run Time Error "5"

2009-03-11 Thread Charles.Brasell
I had a lot of trouble with the missing "install file" after a disastrous
system restore and found reinstalling legacy would not work.
I had to shift my family files to another drive, manually delete all
vestiges of legacy from C: drive, download a new version of legacy7 to the
desktop and install from there. It was also a good reason to move from
dialup to broadband!

I just finished downloading Legacy 7 and tried to uninstall from the
Add/Remove program in the control panel. It still will not uninstall. It
says exactly the same thing. "Could not find Install.log file."

Phil,

The copy of a copy of a copy can happen on any file not only Legacy, it
happens when selecting a number a files and one is not quite steady on the
ctrl/shift keys and the mouse.

If you innstall a new copy of Legacy over your existing one you should then
be able to uninstall.
