Re: [LegacyUG] no maps in Master Location list

Chap,
I have been having the same problem as JL and no amout of checking and
unchecking the show map box helps.
There is nothing worse than a bug that only happens sometimes. It could be
Legacy, IE7 or some interaction with another program.

JL,
I had the same problem this morning, complete with script errors etc. I closed
Legacy, opened IE and started my copy of Virtual Earth. When I restarted Legacy
the maps apeared as they are supposed to.

Re: [LegacyUG] Linking files to Legacy 6.0

2008-04-03 Thread gcoliver
All of my census images are in this format.

Year US Census, State, County, City or Militia Dist, last name and initial of
head of household.

Example:
1880 US Census, Georgia, Clarke, Athens, DorseyWE

They then line up by Date and Location and are easily found.
Works for me. Most of my Census images have been saved in .gif or .tiff format
but it does not matter as I sort by image name not type.

Re: [LegacyUG] Legacy Chart -

2008-04-02 Thread gcoliver
I would normally agree but my ancestors were prone to large family's. Try to
fit a 2 gen descendent chart with 11 children with 11 spouses on to 8.5 x 11 or
legal landscape. No matter how much other info you forego it will not fit as
long as you cannot supress the spouses or wrap them onto a third tier. Thats
the easy one. One ancestor had three wives and 19 children.

Re: [LegacyUG] census clean-up

2008-02-27 Thread gcoliver
Janis,

When I first started with the LUG last July the following was in the Legacy
news for July 27th 2007 "Legacy version 7 is getting closer to its release.
We're still putting on the finishing touches". After that statement I started
slowing down entering new people. I learned a little later about the sourceing
change and I stopped all together.
Currently I am only entering new information (mostly census data, pictures and
Vitals) into my Clooz data base so I can print it out later when Legacy 7
arrives. Clooz will make things go alot faster. I really hate doing things
twice so I am only doing picture links and non source maintenance right now.

Still in a holding pattern.
