RE: [LegacyUG] [Legacy] Emailing info
Hi Ellen, I find the best way to e-mail Legacy reports is to print the desired report as a PDF file, saving it to disk, and then attaching the generated PDF file to my outgoing email. I wanted to send someone just her greatgrandparents on down so she could review for content and make additions and corrections. I could only figure out how to print and mail to her. That would make it more costly for me to do that for lots of people. Any detailed instructions would be most helpful. Most likely these would be in the Descendant Book format, but some might be in the Ancestor format. Re: [LegacyUG] [Legacy] Emailing info
Probably the best option would be to create a PDF file as almost everyone has the capability to read that format. If they don't, the reader can be downloaded free. Thanks and God bless, Ellen Kramer Researching and loving Dorman, Kramer, Mirarchi, Procopio, Renninger and Staudt-Stoudt-Stout families Ellen, You add them as attachments - see the help files for your email client as to how to do it. They can be in most formats eg. .txt, .jpg, .rth, .pdf etc.. If they are very big say over 2MB they may be too big for your email client, again see it's help file for the maximum size, if so there are other ways of doing it. RE: [LegacyUG] [Legacy] Emailing info
When creating reports, you have options of which format to create them in. Not all formats are available for all reports. Not all formats include everything you can see in Preview. Choose one of the emailable options: Text file, HTML File, Rich Text File, PDF File. Click Create. In the Create Report window that opens, choose where you want the file to be saved and insert a name for your file. Click Save. The file will be created. The Preview screen will open along with a message asking if you want to view the file you have created. Click Yes. Then check that your file has what you want. All the files can be attached to an email.
