[LegacyUG] Another web page question
Okay, now I have a new Rootsweb web site and I want to upload my web page files. However, I have 4429 files! (It is 20.5MB). When I use WS_FTP looks like the upload will take many hours. Am I missing something here? Am I missing something here? Is there a quicker way to upload? I don't know what WS_FTP is, but I assume it is simply an FTP program? You don't have to use that if you don't want to, you can use any FTP program you choose - my choice is FileZilla (http://filezilla-project.org/) and there are others. Talking about uploading your web pages to Rootsweb is getting beyond the focus of this list, so you may like to take your questions to the list Rootsweb provides for its Freepages users - you should have been automatically subscribed to this list when you were granted Freepages web space. Michele, That number of files should not take all that long. I would have thought maybe 1 to 1 1/2 hrs., maybe a bit less. No, you are not missing anything. You are correct in your assumption if you're on dial-up.
