Re: [LegacyUG] Legacy Review

2009-01-15 Thread Kirstin
I merged Basic Sourcewriter files found it completely deleted my
details. I'm very sorry it was available I tried it. I hope they don't
put it back until it actually works.

If this is true then I hope they will restore the ability to merge a
Basic Source into a Sourcewriter Source the way it worked in build
55. I know several other Legacy users are also unhappy that it is not
allowed after ver. 7 build 55. The helpful programmers decided since
merging Basic into Sourcewriter does not fill in ALL the blanks in the
source detail that it is best for us users not to be permitted to use
this feature at all. In build 55 all Basic into Sourcewriter merges
that I did were extremely successful in my opinion. (I didn't have
time to do enough merges before buld 55 was IMPROVED). All
multimedia and their comments were in place. ALL text comments,
(actual text transcriptions) were in place. On the Detail Information
page only the recorded date was in place. The missing fields in Detail
Information I copy /paste from text comments and it's all done.

They took it away from us because it doesn't fill in all the blanks. I
have news for the programmers. The Source Conversion Tool will never
convert my basic to Sourcewriter any better than a simple merge as in
build 55.

As a former FTM user, I am very pleased with Legacy and the high level
of support. I agree with everything Richard said and would like to go
on record to second the motion to restore the ability to merge basic
sources into sourcewriter.
