[LegacyUG] Marriage Wording

2008-12-07 Thread Jan Roberts
Using Legacy Deluxe 7.0.0.76.

Just playing with Marriage wording options as recently discussed. I set the
Customise View Marriage wording options to say if Unmarried (Spouse is
not known): Person 1 had a relationship with an unknown person.

Wording options in the Marriage Screen show correctly. Alberta and unknown
partner are correctly marked as This couple did not marry.

But the report shows the following:

Alberta married an unknown person. They had one daughter: Unnamed.

3-Unnamed POULSEN [611] was born in 1891 in Swan Reach, Victoria,
Australia22 and died in 1891 in Swan Reach, Victoria, Australia.23

Alberta married James Francis Grant WALSH [15] [MRIN: 3] on 20 Dec 1894 in
Parkes, New South Wales, Australia, son of James WALSH [26] and Catherine
CULLEENY [27]. James was born on 17 Oct 1865 in Gordon, Victoria, Australia,
died on 25 Sep 1955 in Surrey Hills, Victoria, Australia24 at age 89, and
was buried in Catholic Section, Box Hill Cemetery, Box Hill, Victoria,
Australia. They had five children: Nellie Frances, Eileen Constance, Beryl,
William James and Gladys Irene.

Cheers,

Jan

RE: [LegacyUG] Marriage Wording

2008-12-07 Thread ronald ferguson

Jan,

If a person has a child then Legacy creates a marriage to an Unknown I have
it set so that this person is blank: CustomiseData Format select just leave
blank (bottom right).

If I find an unknown apprearing in family view when the partner is highlighted
I right click the unknown and delete. You may also find it necessary to select
the marriage/partnership/relationship on the marriage screen and select this
couple did not marry.

As you have described it, what you see looks to be correct.

Ron Ferguson

Re: [LegacyUG] Marriage Wording

2008-12-07 Thread seaic2008-gen
Jan,  Mine just says married someone.  I shouldn't even have a marriage.  It
seems that if a woman had an illegitimate child, Legacy automatically assumes a
marriage or relationship with someone.

You're at least doing better that I am at getting the report to read somewhat
correctly.
