Yes,
One colour for males, one for females. If you have any people whose 
gender you don't know and you've marked the ? button on the 
Individual information form, they may be a different colour.

What colour the names are depends on your colour scheme.
See Options > Customise - Colour Tab, or, with the Deluxe version, 
right click on the background and choose Change Colour Scheme.

Females are listed in black, and males are in blue. You'll notice
this, too, in Family View for the children. If any are bold, they are
your direct line.

To differentiate between male / female.  
Unknown gender will also be in a different color.
