[LegacyUG] Need to enter as date: Before 90 AD

2006-10-19 Thread Rob Vader

Hi,

I am using V5 De Luxe (Dutch UI) en have a problem when entering date
Before 90. Entering 90 is possible (pop-up window asking if I am
correctwhich I am), but 'Bef 90' translates in Bef 3090...which is
quite a bit later.

Any advice from the group?

Re: [LegacyUG] Need to enter as date: Before 90 AD

2006-10-19 Thread Cathy

Hi Rob,

I'm sorry, I don't have v5 installed at present.
In v6 I get the pop up with both 90 and Bef 90 and in both cases
90 jumps to

0090
You could try entering it as 0090.
That may help.

RE: [LegacyUG] Need to enter as date: Before 90 AD

2006-10-19 Thread ronald ferguson
Rob, before 90 has so many meanings that I cannot understand, nor will a
computer. Is it before 90AD before 90 years of age (probably not because you
say date). If it is a year then you need four digits eg 1990 or 0190 or
whatever. You can use OptionsCustomiseDate to set the formats which you
prefer.

Ron,

if I enter 'Bef 0090' in the date field of (e.g.) birth, I assume the
program 'understands' that I want to say Before 90 ADbut I may be
wrong. I will check again tonight at home and see whether changing
back to the English UI may do the trick.

Rob, I would also expect a computer to understand that a date of 0090 would
be 90AD, the point I was trying to make was that I would not necessarily

Re: [LegacyUG] Need to enter as date: Before 90 AD

2006-10-19 Thread Rob Vader

At home I now tried several options: V5 with UK and with Dutch UI.
Both entered Bef, Voor (Dutch for Before), , 0090, 90, etc. No
difference. All dates (also in other datefields) in UK and in Dutch UI
come out as 3090.
I also used the free version of V6..entered date translated to Bef 0090!!

Is it possible that there is influence between the two versions?

Other option is of course to re-install V5 or update to V6.
