[LegacyUG] Privatizing help needed

2007-09-03 Thread Pat Jones
I want to tag every individual in my database who was born in
1910 or after and for which I don't have a death date as still
living (as well as marking them private) as I do not want them
included in any GEDCOM I send out. By marking them private will
this accomplish what I want to do?

Running the latest update of Deluxe and XP.

Thanks,

Pat,

Yes it will, providing of course that you leave unchecked the boxes for
exporting private data.

[LegacyUG] Privatizing help needed

2007-09-03 Thread Pat Jones
Thanks Ron. I'd like to post my database on Ancestry (it's been
on Rootsweb for years). After I submit a complete GEDCOM (not
privatized), Rootsweb allows me to control what will and will not
be shown and I don't show anyone who was born in 1910 or after
unless there is a death date for them. Unfortunately Ancestry
doesn't give me that kind of control so I've never sent them a
GEDCOM Legacy will let me fix the database so that I can outwit
Ancestry (I hope).

No problem, Pat. It does work with Ancestry - that's how I do it myself.
