Jim, I agree fully.  The fact that you must close all secondary windows in a 
split screen before you can go to the other side of the screen makes the split 
impossible to use for editing and adding to other people.  This seems to be 
true even if you open completely seperate files.  This one drawback, to me, 
makes the split almost useless. Can something be done about this little problem?

But as soon as you open a secondary window in either view you can't
open a window in the other view.  For example open an Individuals
Information and you can go to the other view and do anything. So you
still end up having to close the secondary window or if you go another
layer down two windows. I would like split screen to operate as two
independent instances.

Have you tried using Legacy in split screen view? Just click on View and
select Split Screen View from the pull-down menu. Don't open a family file
in the new window; but instead select Research Guidance in first screen. You
can then use the second screen to get to other people in the family file.

I have Post-It notes as well as word processors, but I'm trying to avoid 
entering info 2x.


When I am in internet data via Research Guidance, I can click the edit 
button for the one individual I've done the Res. Guidance on and enter info 
but I can't get to other family members.


When I go back to the previous screen (i.e., Research Guidance screen 
listing the 4 steps etc.) and click on the Family tab, my computer just goes 
clunk and refuses to go to the Family (or any other view).


So could you tell me what to click on in order to get to other amily
