Thank you Dennis,.
I haven't seen any mention of this issue in anything from Millennium. I
would have expected Support might see your reply but I will send a report
through the formal channels.
Apologies for the HTML post

I am replying to Ron because the OP did not post in plain text per the LUG
guidelines...

If you look at line 38 of the .sc0 file you will see a number. This number
apparently corresponds to the index of the selected item in the "Where to
look" combo box. Because several new items were inserted near the top of the
combo box for V7, the number in the V6 .sc0 file points to the incorrect
item when used in V7.

Probably not a "bug", just poor design. It should be reported to support for
them to consider fixing before more items get added to the combo box in a
future release. In the short term, I think you are stuck rebuilding your
saved searches. Keep in mind that these saved searches could get broken
again the next time Millennia inserts a new item in the combo box unless
they do something to fix the underlying cause.

[LegacyUG] Saved searches

2009-06-19 Thread Boyd Miller
Over the last few years I have created and saved a number of searches set up
from Search>Find>Detailed screen. This process creates a .sc0 file which
you can reload from the search screen to carry out the search again.
I now find that none of these searches created before the current version
will work under Legacy 7.The process works for any searches created
under Legacy 7, but even those saved from Legacy 6 will not work.
I have sent copies of recent and older searches to Customer Support and they
found the same problem with the files However they didn't offer any reason
for the difficulty or acknowledgement that they had change anything. All
Ron can suggest is that I delete the files and create new ones!
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program but to no avail. Is this a
bug or has the search file structure been changed in the latest version? Do
we need to reconstruct all the searches created before Legacy7?

Has anyone else been able to use .sc0 searches created with versions before
version 7? Any suggestions?

Boyd Miller
