Susan, how does one export notes & events (only?) to a .gedcom? Then where you find it, you can go back to your Legacy file and locate it. Cumbersome, but it works. Set: Produce file for GEDCOM 5.5. Click on: Customize: You can remove anything you don't want, leaving just notes, but since you are doing a search, I wouldn't bother. (You highlight items on the right hand list, then click " < Remove ". If you do a lot of removing, and think you will search notes again, I would save this export criteria by clicking Save List. Click OK. Make sure Record Selection at the bottom includes all records in file. Click on top right, Select file name and start export.
