Hi Donna
I have used Dropbox and it worked fairly well, BUT I found that 3 out of five
times I started Legacy it would come up with a fault and close. When I restarted
it was ok.
I now use a smart drive. I bought a four Gig Sandisk drive and have my database
and photos on it.
That way it doesn't matter weather I am using the desktop or laptop I always
have an up to date database. When I finish I backup to the computer I was using
that way I always have a current backup.
Hope this helps.

Re: RE: [LegacyUG] Installing (2nd) Legacy on laptop for travel - Dropbox

2009-07-25 Thread DONNA FRASER
This is my first message to the LegacyUserGroup. I appreciate all the help
that you offer so freely.

I also have a new second laptop for travel. I would like to have my Legacy
Deluxe program with me on trips and update it with new data as I research and
yet ensure at the end of the trip that all the information is on my original
computer.

Has anyone any experience using Dropbox so that each computer is automatically
updated with the new data? If yes, can you please give me the Dummy's version
of the step-by-step process to have my Legacy Family Tree program on both of my
computers using Dropbox.

Or, if Dropbox isn't a good choice, please let me know before I try it.

Thank you.
Donna in Canada
