Re: [LegacyUG] 0 RIN in the Index
RIN 0 is used by Legacy to hold vital information relating to the use of the program, which is why you cannot delete it. And it should probably not be displayed on the Index tab. I would report this as a bug. The word bug is usually used to mean something which the programmers did not intend and would not wish to happen - in other words, a mistake. Although I can see an argument in favour of not displaying this RIN 0 line in the Name List, it is not a bug as these blank lines which are used by Legacy and cannot be deleted appear at the head of most or all lists in the program - Sources, Locations, etc. -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp

The Name List starts with RIN 1 so I don't see why the Index couldn't start with RIN 1. I agree this is a (cosmetic) bug. Evert 2008/9/24 Dennis M. RE: [LegacyUG] 0 RIN in the Index
Tom, RIN 0 is used by Legacy to hold vital information relating to the use of the program, which is why you cannot delete it. I have never bothered to look as to why it displays different persons when attempting to delete, but is obviously connected to the information contained in row ID 0 (RIN 0) in tblIR at that time. You can view this in either Access or Open Office Base.
