Re: [LegacyUG] Is the mailing down
This is the ideal way, and I know from personal experience of not less than a week ago.It took less than 24 hours from the time I contacted support to get the problem resolved. Gwen, You can always check the archives to see if you are getting all of the email. If there is a problem, notify support. RE: [LegacyUG] Is the group working
Twenty-six messages over the past two days is not exactly quiet but then again sometimes there's that many in one hour. As usual, Still, Again...(pick one) the mail server is a little persnickety. I've even gotten a reply or two to a message that was never received by me. And as previously stated I won't bother stepping in to assist other users try to figure out why they may be having a problem with the email when Millennia won't publically comment. Any and all requests for mail server problems must go directly to Legacy Support. It's the only way and fastest way to fix any problems a user may be experiencing with mail delivery. RE: [LegacyUG] Master Sourcing Question
I never looked at Advanced Sourcing. This sounds like a wonderful tool. Thank you, Geoff! RE: [LegacyUG] Master Sourcing Question
Why not use Advanced Sourcing... in the Tools menu? Make a tag list then it's easy to assign a source from the Source Clipboard to whichever field you like. As you say "at this late date" I presume you have made changes to your file since the import? If so, you probably (!) won't want to revert to your pre-GEDCOM back-up (you *did* back-up before importing, didn't you?). But if you haven't made (many) changes to your file, that is one option - revert and start again with the import. If that is not an option, is there a quick way to locate and tag those 30 individuals - something you can search on which is unique to them? Even if not, scanning the Name List for only 30 people is not too onerous a task and tag each one with a spare tag number. Then you can create a Search List of those 30 and work through your Search List using the Source Clipboard to add the same Master Source to each one. Not as instant a method as you had hoped for, I suspect, but nothing like as tedious as some of the operations I have had to perform on *hundreds* of people as I have realised my errors and omissions in the Sourcing department! -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergr...@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergr...@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
