Re: [LegacyUG] Gedcom size

This does not work.
I set the tag for 20 generations an I get my 35th and 40th GGP included.
There must be something I am doing wrong.
Or the method does nt w2ork.

 Sam,
Go to FileExport toGEDCOM then on the GEDCOM Export screen click on Record
Selection and then on the next screen tick the second box All records with
an individual tag of: and change the tag number to the one you chose and
select the other records that you can check.

There are various options for selecting individuals/families/lines to be
tagged and you can then choose to export to Gedcom only the tagged
people. See Advanced Tagging in the Help files.

I'm not sure what you mean by set the tag for 20 generations.

Using my method of tagging everyone you want to export, if you tagged an
entire family line you would then need to UNtag those who were beyond
the 20 generations you wanted.

However, Brian Support offered a better solution than mine, which was to
create a Focus Group which you can limit to a certain number of
generations. Did you work from his post?

Yes, you should be able to cite as many Master Sources as you want. I
sometimes have about 5 or more for one Event or Fact. You add each
subsequent one as you did the first.

The only reason I can think of for your second Source not appearing is
that you had accidentally checked/unchecked a box somewhere that was
causing that particular Source not to appear on Reports. If you use the
same Master Source elsewhere does it appear on a Report?

2.7MB is a big picture to attach to Legacy. If you're continually
attaching large images like that to Legacy you may have maxed out
Legacy's ability to handle them. If you try something smaller does it
still give you the problem?

You're right...I decided to reduce the image and everything was fine. I'm not
sure why the documents (pages of a will) were so large in the first place.
Thanks for the reply.

2013-01-17 Thread Brian/Support
There is a setting on the Report Options Sources tab that tells Legacy
to combine multiple sources into a single paragraph and hence a single
citation number. When you examine the entry for that citation you will
see that multiple sources are listed, each is separated by

Examine your report, that is probably why you are seeing only one
