Re: [LegacyUG] Not receiving emails

2013-04-12 Thread Brian/Support
Gwen,

I am sending this message to the list and to your private address.

When you have linked the couple, they must be different genders Legacy
does not support same-gender couples, Open their marriage. On the
Marriage screen you can indicate that the couple did not marry. On the
wording options tab you can set the wording used by Legacy for this
union in reports. On the bottom of the marriage screen you can set the
married name(s) used by the couple.

Re: [LegacyUG] Master Location List - Geo-code issue

2013-04-12 Thread John Groome
Thanks Brian, I should have been a little clearer.

On adding a new location no coordinates appear for that location. Although
the record saves the "L" column has no value. It does however list the
individuals to which it is attached.

With existing records the coordinates appear but no map is displayed
although a list of the connected individuals and the event type (birth,
death, event, etc) is displayed when the record is highlighted.

Re: [LegacyUG] Event notes

2013-04-12 Thread Brian/Support
Using Jenny's method you then have the option to include those event
notes in the report if you change the setting on the privacy tab to
include private notes. There is a secondary option on that line that
will also remove the [[ and ]] around the notes if you wish.

Re: [LegacyUG] Master Location List - Geo-code issue

2013-04-12 Thread Brian/Support
When you Geocode a location in Legacy 7 you are not using the GeoDB.dbm
file so downloading and updating the Geodb file will not fix this.
Legacy 7 uses the Bing Maps website to geocode locations. The Script
Error is an IE error from the Bing Maps website. When you get that error
do you still get the location Lats and Longs filled in if you click on
the option to stop running scripts? If so you can ignore that script
error message.

You did not say whether the location is properly geocoded despite that
error.

[LegacyUG] Master Location List - Geo-code issue

2013-04-12 Thread John Groome
Hi Users

I am running Legacy 7.5.0.219 (15 Feb 2013) on Windows 7.

I have added a new location to the database and as is my normal practice I
run the geo-code function. However I am getting a scrip error "VELat/Long
is undefined". I checked the geo directory to find it was empty (can't
understand why!!) so have re-downloaded each regional file, imported and
compressed. However am still getting the error.

Is there any advice a user can give me to resolve this issue?

Thanks

You can. You can put the privacy brackets round the [Notes] in the
Sentence Definition - [[[Notes]]].

You just need to do it once for each type of Event, then.
