[LegacyUG] Privatizing dates
Is it ok to use the private brackets [[ ]] in the date field? I am coming into Legacy from TMG where we have sort dates. Placing a date in the private brackets [[1950]] appears to be somewhat of a work around. Willit get me into trouble later on in Legacy? RE: [LegacyUG] sentence override
If you have been using Legacy 8 and not duplicating Legacy 8 additions and corrections in Legacy 7.5, I don't think you can because they are different. Legacy 7.5 can be converted to Legacy 8, but I think the converse is not true. If you have added nothing new to Legacy 8, then your old Legacy 7.5 backup can be restored. If you no longer have Legacy 7.5 on your computer, I believe you can still download it, and then restore your Legacy 7.5 backup. Others on the list probably know for sure and can advise you. Gee, another rant from CE - what a surprise. (not!) So this problem of Kirsten's is caused a known bug - I was wondering if that was the issue after I sent my last post, but hadn't gotten around to checking that out yet. In that case it is known by the people at Legacy, and it will be fixed when it is fixed. Meanwhile, get over yourself, CE. I wouldn't be surprised if there are members of this list who delete your posts unread, just to avoid your vindictive bile. I certainly don't read right through - a couple of lines is usually enough before I'm reaching for the delete key, and had to go and find this post of yours in the trash to reply to it once I'd thought about it a while. Kirsten, don't be put off by CE's response; he has a bee in his bonnet about v8 and puts it down every opportunity he gets. Re: [LegacyUG] Long/Lat for stones
Mike there is nothing wrong with that, and I have done that for some. But I was hoping there would be a way to save that data into "proper" fields that could be used for mapping. At the start of this of was asking how others handled it, in hopes that I would be enlightened to a workaround that has the data in usable fields. I will probably create my own extra "cemetery' tables One just to assign a unique number to a particular Cemetery And a second table that would list the Cemetery Number, The persons ID, and the Long/Lat of burial And hopefully someday I could just import that info into Legacy when they have addressed the situation. Thanks for taking the time to respond. [LegacyUG] Crossover mac 14 and Legacy 8
I just checked on the CodeWeavers website and it says that Legacy Family Tree 8 should work on CrossOver mac 14. Does anybody know if it really does? RE: [LegacyUG] Inserting an en Dash in Notes
I get the same thing, using Alt 0150 always changes to '96 regardless of the preceding year. Worse yet, if I enter Alt 0150 on its own Legacy will crash. I tried this several times. But that doesn't help (in the UK in particular) with multiple individuals in a single grave.
