And I believe v7.5 and v8 can both peacefully co-exist on the same computer.
And least they do on mine. But I seldom use v7.5 anymoremaybe just to check
to see how things used to appear and exactly what change was made in v8. And,
of course, my v7.5 is now well out-of-date with my family file info. I suppose
in a few more weeks I bid it a final farewell.

Since it's a confidential number, I can't give it to you on the list.

Unlike previous versions, v8 does not install over v7.5 - it creates a

[LegacyUG] First Birth After Marriage

2015-02-11 Thread Howlanddavisii

I am using Legacy 8, download 8.0.0.454 (I know, I should update).
I have a grand aunt who has a red exclamation symbol. When I click for the
details, it says 'Birth of first child tool ate after after marriage date.'
She had no children and it is marked as such. Her parents married seven years
before her birth. So to whom is the potential problem referring? If you are
looking for a preceding sibling, shouldn't the parents have the red exclamation
symbol not their child; the child was not involved with the birth of any prior
child?

Re: [LegacyUG] Upgrade to Legacy v8?

2015-02-11 Thread Wendy Howard
It is free to download Legacy (any version) and install it.

If you want to unlock the additional features that come with the Deluxe
edition, you will need to pay for that. The program will not ask you
for money, though - you buy Deluxe (online via the Legacy web site, via
a third-party seller...) and then you get a code to unlock it. It's the
same program, just with extra features available to you.

Hope this helps. :-)

Legacy Help, of course is not accessible.

So what do I do now??

[LegacyUG] Upgrade to Legacy v8?

2015-02-11 Thread tamitru32
I’ve been out of the loop for a bit and just settling back into research.
Currently I am running v7.5 on Windows 8.1. I just assumed I would upgrade to
Legacy v8, but since I’m still seeing messages about issues using it I’m
wondering if I should stick with v7.5 awhile longer? I don't mind a few bugs
with v8 as long as it doesn’t cause serious issues. Comments? Thanks!

Many years ago I took a copy of the index. Since then it has grown
considerably and I've forgotten how I made the copy. Could someone
remind me please?
