Re: [LegacyUG] Error 3314

2015-11-24 Thread Cathy Pinner
No.
The list in the left column of the Troubleshooting Help is made up of links.
Did you click the Error 3314 link? When you do, the item shows in the
right column.

Is this supposed to mean something to me?? For me, it
 is pure
 gobbledygook.

To begin with I am _not_ attempting to save a Media file; I
_am_ sim ply attempting to save a source with no media
 attached..

If I click "Online help" I get no help at all, Error
 3314 just
 repeats
 what has already been said.
Clicking either "Yes" or "No" simply bring back the
 same error
 message.
; The only response I can make that is accepted, is
 "Quit."
 When I
reopen Legacy, the source I attempted to add has been
 added. I
 don't
understand what the problem is, and I do _not_ understand
 why Legacy
cannot provide some kind of comprehensible explanation.

Can somebody explain what is going on. (Incidentally, I've
 done all
 the File Maintenance/Repair options.)

I have Windows 10OS, Legacy DeLuxe, version 8.0.0.524,
 build
 date 23
 Oct 2015.

Yes, I clicked on that.

You mentioned that I may be using an old bookmark. But I just
click on Legacy Homepage from the icons at the top of my Legacy family file.

You could submit this as a bug report.

You may be able to fix some of it for yourself by adding the required
commas and or spaces in the boxes with the missing data.

Help! I am using the template for marriage records  > government records >

spacing issues. When I had no volume number the series ran into the page with

Pat,
It's not hidden. Perhaps you are using a really old bookmark? The site
has been updated.

Go to www.legacyfamilytree.com
Click on Help Centre then Troubleshooting Help at the top of the
dropdown list.
On the left there is a menu.
Expand the Error Messages and Problems
Scroll down to find your error number.
OR on the Troubleshooting page, use the Search box on the right

Thanks, Cathy, That worked beautifully. But however did you find it??.
When I click on Error 3314 nothing happens and when I go to Error Messages
I can't get beyond Page 19 (error message 190).

[LegacyUG] Error 3314

2015-11-24 Thread Pat Hickin
Whenever I attempt to provide a source, I get the following message:
"Error saving Media file.
"Error 3314:
"The field 'tblBR.IDBPPic' cannot contain a Null value because the required
property for this field is set to True. Enter a value in this field. Would
you like to TRY IT AGAIN."

Is this supposed to mean something to me?? For me, it is pure gobbledygook.

To begin with I am *not* attempting to save a Media file; I *am* simply
attempting to save a source with no media attached..

If I click "Online help" I get no help at all, Error 3314 just repeats what
has already been said.
Clicking either "Yes" or "No" simply bring back the same error message.
The only response I can make that is accepted, is "Quit." When I reopen
Legacy, the source I attempted to add has been added. I don't understand
what the problem is, and I do *not* understand why Legacy cannot provide
some kind of comprehensible explanation.

Can somebody explain what is going on. (Incidentally, I've done all the
File Maintenance/Repair options.)

I have Windows 10OS, Legacy DeLuxe, version 8.0.0.524, build date 23 Oct
2015.

I would also recommend VMWare to run Windows on a Mac and Legacy on the
Windows side.
Works very well for me.
