Re: [LegacyUG] Color schemes legacy 8

2015-12-15 Thread Cathy Pinner
Gwen,

Once set, your colour scheme should survive closing and re-opening the
program. Are you by any chance continually deleting or renaming
Documents\Legacy Family Tree\ folder? The \_AppData\ folder in that
folder holds your settings.

However, you can save your own colour schemes.
If you are using Options - Change Colours, when you're done, instead of
just Closing out, click the Options button on that pink square and
you'll see the option to Save your current scheme.
If you are using Options -Customise - 9 then 9.4 allows you to Save your
colour scheme.

It sounds as if you have saved one in the past. Vintage solar is not an
inbuilt option.

[LegacyUG] Color schemes legacy 8

2015-12-15 Thread Noddie
Hello everyone
I have hunted the net for an answer to this without an joy.

I would love to know how once you have set and changed the global background of
the family view along with tab changes etc, how do I save this as my default
with a new name. Everytime I change it then go out of the program, it reverts
back to the vintage solar scheme. I know I am missing something here, but
when I go to colours I do not see a save as 'your name' option. Is it under
customise maybe.

I would love any help with this as I do not really like any of the colour
schemes fully and would like to add my slant to that.
Thanks so much

good to know, thank you, Geoff.  I think I'll start with Unlocked, and
move onto the videos, if that feels right.

Good questions. Maybe I can offer a little insight. All three will help
you learn how to best use Legacy, it just depends on how you learn best.
And none of them duplicate each other.

The training videos work your way through the program - explaining the
fine details of how to do what.

The Unofficial Guide is an organized compilation of years of tips and
tricks from our Legacy News blog.

Legacy Unlocked takes an actual research problem and walks you through,
step-by-step, how to apply the research to using Legacy. Specific
examples include a death certificate, census, obituary, tombstone, land,
and marriage records.

If I had to narrow it down to two - I would recommend the Unlocked and
the training videos.

I think I would first Search for those with a Death Date after 1939 OR
Death Date equal to "blank", then Search that List for people born
between (say) 1839 and 1939.

There are various options for printing the resulting Search List.
