Re: [LegacyUG] Do Over
Thank you everyone. I did a spot check on a few of my people and I found that I do have some "good" sources and citations. So I think I will just take them one at a time, using a copy of my original family file. I will check into tagging and other tools that I am not familiar with. Y'all were a lot of help and I appreciate it. *Naomi Lee SMITH* *Cartersville, GA.* AERNI, SUTTER, SMITH, GIFFORD, ZELUFF, WINGATE, BLACK, CARDER, RAWLS, MORRISON taphophilia, noun, from the Greek word taphos meaning grave; a love for funerals, graves, cemeteries www.LegacyFamilyTree.com -- LegacyUserGroup mailing list LegacyUserGroup@legacyusers.com To manage your subscription and unsubscribe http://legacyusers.com/mailman/listinfo/legacyusergroup_legacyusers.com Archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/
[LegacyUG] Do Over Question
Hello all I seem to work on my Genealogy every 3 years or so. Now, I "think" my life is such that I can stick to it now. I am doing the Genealogy Do Over in the modified version. I am not scraping all 3,000 plus records. I am doing it this time with better citations and research notes, etc. I am also keeping notes that I can piece into a cohesive account of how and why I did this, that or the other. It will make it easier for her to pick up where I left off someday. I am undecided as to how to most efficiently go about it. I have a copy of my original Legacy tree. Is there a way I can clear all the citations, sources, etc. without deleting the names & dates? Or, should I start with a totally naked file from absolute scratch? I would prefer not to start from scratch, but I will if I have to. All suggestions will be considered. *Naomi Lee SMITH* *Cartersville, GA.* AERNI, SUTTER, SMITH, GIFFORD, ZELUFF, WINGATE, BLACK, CARDER, RAWLS, MORRISON taphophilia, noun, from the Greek word taphos meaning grave; a love for funerals, graves, cemeteries www.LegacyFamilyTree.com -- LegacyUserGroup mailing list LegacyUserGroup@legacyusers.com To manage your subscription and unsubscribe http://legacyusers.com/mailman/listinfo/legacyusergroup_legacyusers.com Archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/

I think I was a lumper, LOL. I noticed in the attempts at exporting my GEDCOM a while ago that I showed 125 Master Sources with 18,892 citations. I have read and looked up the topic so much the past few days that I am more confused than ever. Too much of a good thing. [LegacyUG] Master Sources vs
Next question. Now that I am starting from scratch...what qualifies as a Master Source? Ex: 1920 US Federal Census I will be using many of these, but for different areas, such as Putnam County, Ohio and Monroe County, Michigan, etc. Would *each* of these be considered a Master Source?
