I’ve been with Legacy for about a year and have also found that it’s 
flexibility can be confusing. Now when using a source/data batch that is new to 
me, e.g the recent U.K. 1939 Register, I create screen dumps of the windows 
showing how I have entered all the information. I can then later, quickly and 
easily refer back to what is my “standard” way of entering the data I want. All 
the screen dumps are filed in one folder.

Angela,

Certainly consistency is the key. You might want a dummy person in your file 
called Consistency for keeping examples of what you decide to do. As an 
unlinked person they do no harm to your data and if you make them Invisible 
they won't appear when you export a file unless you override that Privacy 
setting.

One of the best resources for learning to use Legacy is Geoff Rasmussen's 
Legacy Unlocked book available currently only as a PDF. It was based on the 
Watch Geoff Live webinars.
Other great resources are the Webinars specifically on Legacy see

To see the Watch Geoff Live ones you need a subscription but many of the others 
are free.

I don't think anything does what you are asking in any systematic way. You'll 
find discussions of particular data entry issues including the pros and cons of 
vari ous options in the archives of this mailing list and on the Legacy User 
Group Facebook page.

This comment is very true, but list activity is an indicator. But for me the
response about Local Groups was disappointingly low, almost nothing.
I know that Legacy is not widely used in the U.K. but I had expected more
response than the list has seen.

Looks as though there are just 2 people in the UK using this programme then. 
Either that or they are all experts and need no help.
