when you close out (X Out) of a note without saving, you lose any information
that you entered. Even though you know this is how it works, you do it anyway.
So, how is this Legacy’s fault rather than your failure to properly save your
work? I love it when folks issue idle “threats”. If you think that RootsMagic
is a better product than Legacy, why not just switch rather than making a
public statement that you are looking at another product. Ron

The only way I see is Search Search Replace. Look in the menu for General Notes. N.B.: Be carefull, don't press substitute. Take note of the name and the RIN number. It is a crippled solution. CUSTOMIZE I'm testing Legacy v.8. I keep Legacy v.7.5 and I copy my rene.fdb in v.8. I customize v.8. The conversion seems good except for CUSTOMIZE below. Options Customize 3. Data Format 3.3, I check UPPERCASE ; 3.4, I check Show SURNAMES in uppercase letters 8. View 8.9, I check Show the picture on each main person on the family and the pedigree view and I uncheck If the is no picture... 8.11, I uncheck When I do some changes in v.7.5, I copy my rene.fdb in v.8. Customization I mentioned above are no longer in force. I don't like these changes averytime I copy my rene.fdb Is it a bug ? In the version 8.0.0.357 dated 4 dec. 2013, notes are viewable. I only work with version 7.5. I purchase v. 8 and I just test for the moment waiting for a nearly bug free version. Can I leave Legacy v.7.5 and install Legacy v.8 without sharing v.7.5 database ? If so, how ? V.8 converted my v.7 .fdb file. Notes (general) were not converted. What's the problem ?
