[LegacyUG] Gedcom import dropping Child Sealings
Hello Legacyusergroup, When examining a GEDCOM import into Legacy from TMG, I discovered that about 90% of the Sealing to Parent entries are missing. Instead, the same exact text "Seal to Parents: @I8851@" appears in the notes for all of the persons whose sealing to parents information is missing. That text doesn't make much sense, and there is nothing special about individual #8851. I examined the gedcom file and found nothing wrong with it. The information is all there in the proper format, and there is no difference between the ones that imported and the ones that didn't. It seems to be random. The number of SLGC tags in the TMG file was 3612, but the number successfully imported by Legacy was only about three or four hundred. The GEDCOM import was without errors, and only a few items in the unrecognized lines log, mostly name dates. Also, when sharing data with FamilySearch, If I click on "Add Ordinances to Legacy", all the ordinances are copied over - but only about 30% of the time - the rest of the time, the Sealing to Parents information has to be copied manually. This is with full valid date and temple data in FamilySearch. -- Best regards, Stuart mailto:stuarta...@gmail.com Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: http://support.legacyfamilytree.com Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com). [LegacyUG] TMG
The Master Genealogist, a favorite genealogy program for many, is being discontinued. Does Legacy have any plans to design a direct import from TMG ? -- Best regards, Stuartmailto:stuarta...@gmail.com Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
