No. The dates the OP wants to change are parts of Source List Names and
Titles.

I was unsure myself, so I did change the format on my files and it worked,
however I did not try with slashes, still haven't!!

Try Options>Customise>Dates and select the format which you require. This 
should change them all to that format. Also set the Input Format for them.

written, e.g. 12/09/2012, into e.g.,09 Dec 2012?
