Eh? 439 came out on 22 July, updating from 427 which was released on 17
May.

I'll confirm the Parents & Marriage labels, but not the children labels. The
Children labels are just numbers and there is little difference in the
representation of numerals in Ariel and Times New Roman. Try a totally
different-looking font - like Viner Hand ITC (or some other script-like font) -
instead. It becomes very much more evident then as to what changes.

[LegacyUG] Fonts for Labels in Family View: Possible Bug in Version 8.0.0.439

2014-09-04 Thread Alan Thompson
Greetings

Unless I am missing something I think there is a bug in Legacy Version 8.0
which I would like others to confirm before I log a problem report. I am
currently testing Version 8.0.0.439 Standard Edition.

I attempted to change the Font by which labels are displayed in the Family
View from the default Ariel font to Times New Roman, by following the
following path:

Options / Customise / 10. Fonts / 10.1 Screen Fonts (gbl) / Labels / Change:
(select: Times New Roman) / Save

I then returned to Family View where I find: Labels for Husband and Wife
have changed to Times New Roman (including their "Born", "Chr", "Died",
"Bur" labels etc), but the "Parents" "Marriage" and "Children" Labels remain
unchanged (as the Ariel default)

I note that the labels that failed to change are those labels that were not
included in the Legacy Version 7.5 Family View, while those that do get
updated already existed in the 7.5 Version. Maybe this could indicate the
reason why there is a problem.

Cheers

Alan

[LegacyUG] Fonts in Family View

2014-03-28 Thread Michel Lacoursiere
Hi,

- Open the "Sample" file
- Go to Options >Customize
- Reset the Options to Legacy Defaults and Save
- Go to Options >Customize >10. Fonts
- Uncheck  "Stretch fonts when resizing"
- Set "Max. font size" to 8 and Save

One of the programmer should see the resulting "Family View".

Now go back to Options >Customize and Reset to User-Defaults.

[LegacyUG] Fonts in Reports

2011-01-01 Thread Cheryl Rothwell
I just created my first report, much less work than with my prior
software and with very nice results.

Is there a way to universally change the report fonts for each report
or must I click on each choice? I did change them in customize/fonts
but my choices didn't show up on the report menu when I generated it.
I had to change them.

Re: [LegacyUG] Fonts

2010-04-09 Thread Ron Ferguson
Deborah,

The fact that for the moment the main names in Family View have Arial fixed
as the font, and this happens there and only there, is not in my view a very
big deal, but I would agree is annoying.

Before you decide to live with the bugs that have been corrected, for longer
than you already have, I would suggest that you go to the Legacy website and
have a look at those which have been resolved and then make your mind up,
assuming, of course, that you have not already done so. It is of course your
choice, but do bear in mind that we cannot correct bugs for you on this
list.

RE: [LegacyUG] Fonts

2010-04-09 Thread Brian L. Lightfoot
Has anyone else noticed something that I have? Ever since Millennia decided to
become Family Search certified, there has been a plethora of small little bugs
that have crept up. One fix seems to introduce two more. For this very reason,
some users have decided to stay with the original v7.0.0 and some have even
dropped back to v6. I don't recall things being this hectic in the recent past.

But let's put this all into perspective - the bugs have been small, sometimes
more of an annoyance than anything else. Of course some of these bugs have
prevented certain users from accomplishing a specific task or enabling a
specific feature. Nevertheless I find it all interesting that so many things
can go wrong all at once. I'm just wondering if the next "update" shouldn't be
given a retrograde version number, perhaps something like v7.0.01 and we start
from over from there. :-)
