Re: [LegacyUG] Legacy 9 - Search Find-a-grave
The original message to the list is in the attachment. This action is required because of the DMARC Reject/Quarantine Policy imposed by some email providers. Users who want to send messages without conversion to attachments should use a different email address for their subscription. Known providers for free email accounts whose emails do not require this conversion include gmail.com and hotmail.com. Many other email providers will also work but you will have to give them a try.--- Begin Message --- It's really pretty literal. A middle name in one and not the other can prevent a match. Some people in my database work and some don't.Cindy From: Margaret Gagliardi To: Legacy User Group Sent: Saturday, June 24, 2017 5:43 AM Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Legacy 9 - Search Find-a-grave I just entered a new person into Legacy and the search works just like it should. Re: [LegacyUG] Legacy 9 - Search Find-a-grave
When you search FAG from legacy, yes, your info right or wrong is used and there is no fuzziness programed in, so memorials may exist under other spellings or different infomation... so use the new search feature on find a grave to search again... they do not use historical locations as the program does, so if the historic and current locations do not match, again it is not found... however, once you enter a FAG memorial number in the box, it searches by that number rather than any info you have in the program, so spellings or other info will not matter then. Re: [LegacyUG] Legacy 9 - Search Find-a-grave
When you click on Find FAG Number, the name must appear in your file exactly as it does in FAG. I have found this on many of my entries. That is why you find a lot of entries not being found, On Sat, Jun 24, 2017 at 7:41 AM, Margaret Gagliardi wrote: > I just entered a new person into Legacy and the search works just like it > should. Re: [LegacyUG] Legacy 9 - Search Find-a-grave
I just entered a new person into Legacy and the search works just like it should. So now, why will it not work with the many names I have in Legacy already? [LegacyUG] Legacy 9 - Search Find-a-grave
Yesterday I upgraded to Legacy 9. When I try to search for a grave, every time it says there is not one. However, when it tried to look for one I knew I have a grave for, it still says there is none on F-A-G. When I copy the memorial number into Legacy, it will allow me to search and find it, using the new option. What have I done wrong?
