I love Legacy but having to fire up Parallels and Windows 10 every time I want to use it is a real pain. That’s why I’m leaning more toward using Ancestral Quest. Although it’s a Windows program, Incline Software wraps it in a customized version of WINE (or Crossover, I can’t tell which). So it runs “natively” on my iMac. Re: [LegacyUG] Legacy and Mac
My 2 Cents - I run Legacy on an iMAC using Windows 7 and Parallels. It also worked when I was using Fusion. You get all the benefits of Legacy and the MAC system - not a bad deal. Re: [LegacyUG] Legacy and Mac
I personally use Parallels version 6.x and Legacy works great on my macbook. I have heard that VirtualBox also works well on the Mac for Legacy and is a free program. Re: [LegacyUG] Legacy and Mac
Legacy will run on a Mac with Parallels, Fusion, WINE or Bootcamp and Windows installed. I have a couple of people in my Legacy group who are running Legacy on the Windows side of the Mac with no problems. Re: [LegacyUG] Legacy and Mac
With adaptions, yes, it will. I can't think what program was needed on the Mac side to allow Legacy to run, but once you install that, it should run. I don't have one, so I can't say how well it will run. I have used legacy for several years on my pc, I want to get a Mac, and I notice that the specifications say that it will run on newer Mac models with a windows program. Has anyone done this? And does it work OK?
