Re: [LegacyUG] Map Family

2018-10-29 Thread Cathy Pinner
Mapping was not removed in the October 12 update. The update did maybe
add messages that it wasn't working.

Mapping hasn't been working for over a year unless people were still
drawing from Internet Explorer cache but that wouldn't have worked for
new locations. That applies to all map features in Legacy.

No one knows when mapping will be fixed. Fixing it requires a new
implementation.

The original post to this now hijacked thread asked when the latest
update of October 12th, removed the map and when it would be restored.
So far, no reply to that.

Any idea when this feature will again be available? When I updated my
copy of Legacy 9 to the latest build, 9.0.0.258, the map disappeared
and I have a message stating that the feature is under construction
and not available at this time.

I have my Legacy set to open on the Home tab specifically so I can see
the Birthday and Anniversary reminders. I love being able to spend a
few moments each day saying "Thinking of you, you are not forgotten" to
specific relatives.

Re: [LegacyUG] Map Family

2018-10-29 Thread Brian Kelly

Well, I see from the revision history here:
 https://legacyfamilytree.com/RevisionHistory9.asp
that you do not pay attention to updates advertised on the Legacy Home
tab of the software. There have been two updates since March. You must
have been using 9.0.0.217 which was dated 30 March. You missed Version
9.0.0.226 which was issued in May and this update 9.0.0.258 was issued
on 12 October so it has taken you two weeks to update to that. This is
more a comment on you than the programmers.

If you compare build numbers you will see approximately how many
iterations of testing were involved in making sure that the program
fixes were implemented and working correctly.

There was a "notice" about the update sent to this user group and to the
Facebook page. It is not Millennia's fault if you "missed" the notice or you
chose to ignore it. Not sure how you think that proves whatever point you
thought you were making
