Re: [LegacyUG] Odd result from FGS 'Text' Mode

2017-10-31 Thread Martha Graham

Hi Linda,
Yeah, it is more than weird and I have been able to repeat it with other
folks in my file.
I did a maintenance, cleaning, what-not. Shut it down, booted back up
and it still happens.
The pdf fgs works fine, it is the text option that does not work like it
should. It is throwing data all over the place, none of which is in the
right order.
I guess I will wait til the tech folks can figure it out. If nothing
else, it is annoying.

Re: [LegacyUG] Odd result from FGS 'Text' Mode

2017-10-31 Thread Linda Greethurst
Martha,
I did a text file of both the FGS and Ind Reports including all events and
notes and I did not run into the same problem as you have shown. I had 5
totally different types of events from two census, confirmaton, church
membership, employment and they all show as unique as they are supposed to
be.
Someone with a whole lot more tech knowledge than me (and that won't take
much!) will have to add their expertis.
Linda.

[LegacyUG] Odd result from FGS 'Text' Mode

2017-10-31 Thread Martha Graham

Hi Linda,
Thank you, that does work! Most appreciative of your help.
This morning I gave it a try. But... I discovered something else that I
think is not 'supposed to be'.

I am not sure how to describe so will include a sample of what happened
when I tried to make a FGS in 'text' mode. I really have no reason to
use this function, but since I was testing your suggestion, I tried it.

So here goes.
Below is the result of creating a Family Group Sheet in 'Text' mode: I
have not modified anything.

Husband: Joachim Frederick Theodore Stubbe [94125319]

AKA: Frederick John Stubbe, John F Stubbe
Born: 2 Jan 1850 - Stralsund in Franzburg Province of Pommern
Germany

Died: 7 Oct 1912 - Chicago, Cook, Illinois
Buried: 10 Oct 1912 - Forest Home Cem., Forest Park, Cook, IL
Father: Suerth Von Stubbe ( -Bef 1869)
Mother: Maria Fredericka Johanna Decur (1825-1886)
Marriage: 28 Apr 1872 Place: Chicago, Cook,
Illinois

   Events

   1. He immigrated on 25 Jan 1869 to New York, New York.

  Age: 18
  Gender: Male
  Place of Origin: Pomerania
  Port of Departure: Bremen, Germany
  Destination: United States of America
Port of Arrival: New York, New York

   3. City Directory: Residence, Occupation, in 1875, in Chicago, Cook,
  Illinois.
  Name: Johann Stubbe
  Arrival Date: 25 Jan 1869
  Birth Date: abt 1851

  Port of Departure: Bremen, Germany

Notice that each heading changes with the event, but the notes do not.
They are all from the first entry: Immigration.
