It's pretty much up to you. You can download the final build of v7.5

If you choose to upgrade to v8, there is a discounted price available.

2015-02-11 Thread Brian L. Lightfoot
And I believe v7.5 and v8 can both peacefully co-exist on the same computer.
And least they do on mine. But I seldom use v7.5 anymoremaybe just to check
to see how things used to appear and exactly what change was made in v8. And,
of course, my v7.5 is now well out-of-date with my family file info. I suppose
in a few more weeks I bid it a final farewell.

Downloading the final build of Legacy v7.5 is free. You can email
supp...@legacyfamilytree.com to ask them to send your customer number
to you so you can unlock the Deluxe features. You'll also need that
number if you choose to upgrade to v8.

Since it's a confidential number, I can't give it to you on the list.

Unlike previous versions, v8 does not install over v7.5 - it creates a
new folder. The Help Center on our website has an article on upgrading

Re: [LegacyUG] Upgrade to Legacy v8?

2015-02-11 Thread Wendy Howard
It is free to download Legacy (any version) and install it.

If you want to unlock the additional features that come with the Deluxe
edition, you will need to pay for that. The program will not ask you
for money, though - you buy Deluxe (online via the Legacy web site, via
a third-party seller...) and then you get a code to unlock it. It's the
same program, just with extra features available to you.

Hope this helps. :-)

Wendy
