[LegacyUG] Subscribing
Can someone tell me if I have done something wrong, in attempting to subscribe to this list. I received a message at the top of the screen on the web site where I subscribed that says the email address has been subscribed to the LegacyUserGroup and I should receive an email message with details. However, the next line says "Error Sending: Transport Layer Security Error #30 (SMTP): 554 Message rejected: Email address is not verified. The following identities failed the check in region US-East-1 and then lists my mail address." The screen where I subscribed says Legacy User Group-Mailing List. I have tried with two different email addresses and get the same message on both (multiple tries). What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Barbara Ford -- LegacyUserGroup mailing list LegacyUserGroup@legacyusers.com To manage your subscription and unsubscribe http://legacyusers.com/mailman/listinfo/legacyusergroup_legacyusers.com Archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/

Re: [LegacyUG] subscribing - not receiving emails - searching archives
Just a friendly reminder to change the Subject line when the thread diverges. You will find that helpful when searching the archives later. Thanks! --Paula in Texas From: ChuckH44 . To: LegacyUserGroup@LegacyUsers.com Sent: Mon, September 19, 2011 10:58:22 AM Subject: [LegacyUG] Change fie extension Tony, I too am one that had problems with getting e-mails from this user group. Tech support pointed back to my provider, my provider pointed back to Legacy, etc. Then after looking at some of the messages in here for a while, especially the spam types that make it through, I decided that I didn't want that stuff in my mail box anyway. Instead what I found was that I could search the archives and "when I felt like it", fire off a question to the group as you did. When I wanted to respond to someone's kind and helpful input, I sent another message to the group using the identical subject line. This message found its way to the same thread and in the sequence of messages received. The only differences was that the "RE: " was not included in the message header as it normally appears in a reply. Re: [LegacyUG] subscribing
Yes, you are were doing something wrong. Your error is that due to the link wrapping, it got broken. You need to manually paste in the part that reads "80c8a&ml=3&domain=LegacyUsers.com" (without the parenthisis). When you just click on the link you are getting only the first part of the URL (that ends in e02fcd). On the other hand, since this message got posted, your subscription appears to be active so something must have gone through OK.
