RE: [LegacyUG] Apology
Robert, I don't see any reason why you should apologize. So many users write in HTML. Why not you too. I use only use the plain text format due to the higher security. Every user has the possibilty to chose which format to use when answering. Don't make any thoughts about the format you write in. Bernhard From: Robert E. Re: [LegacyUG] Apology to all
Yes, keep posting. Learn from mistakes but don't take complaints personally. I think what sometimes comes across as intolerance is partly due to the fact that this is a very busy list. It takes time to scan all the posts. Following all the standard rules helps streamline this process, increasing the chances of quality help. I also think that enforcing a rule should fall more often to a single reminder by a moderator at Legacy, and less often to multiple reminders by fellow listers. While we all have had 'lapses', rules such as the following are pretty common among mail lists and are worthy of a pause and proofread before posting: - plain text; no attachments - trim excess from bottom of thread - don't hijack threads, and craft a meaningful subject line - on topic - respectful - attempt to find answers in the list archive and/or Legacy Help - ensure 'Read Receipt' is turned off Ward P.S.: _Almost_ replied in HTML!
