Re: [LegacyUG] Burial plot number
I have tried putting it in the Notes of the Location field, but personally I like to see at a glance that I have the Plot #, so personally I record it like this: Name of Cemetery, Section, Plot #, City, County, State, USA. RE: [LegacyUG] Burial plot number
I am still on the fence about this: currently I use Burial Notes. But I'm starting to consider putting them under a Cemetery Event because I usually run a lot of family group sheets and all notes are tacked on at the end. However, for a report like the Descendant Narrative, they are printed after the vital stats. I guess as everyone has suggested before, it's best to try it a few different ways and print your reports to see what works best for you. IMHO no user has the right to chastise another, especially over something which for many of us is a matter of personal taste. Thanks for asking this question. In the beginning I entered it as part of the location but was chastised by a fellow Legacy user for misusing the field. Re: [LegacyUG] Burial plot number
I agree, I also put the details in the Location Field. After all it does locate the grave. I suppose one could say that it is equivalent to a house number, and, where applicable, I do put the full location in an Event Location Field. I enter the date and governmental jurisdictions in the Buried fields. Then I create a Cemetery Event for the name and location of the Cemetery. I enter the plot information in the Cemetery Event notes.
