Yes, well spotted Ron, something I can confirm in Family Bee that doesn't get transferred, and this does niggle me somewhat.

Thanks Ron,

That is certainly and important piece of information relative to using Legacy
8, since that is the version of Legacy I will be using.

I'm more of a lurker on this List than a poster, but having gone through the
selection process for having a Genealogy app on my Galaxy S3, my thoughts are
as follows:

(1) Yes Families did work ok on my phone, but my file ended up being 163 megs
in size, took ten minutes to encode, then another 15 to 20 minutes to upload to
Dropbox.
(2) I make updates regularly to Legacy and want the changes reflected quickly
on my Android phone, so for me I considered the time aspect important.
(3) Only a personal choice I guess, but do I want photos to display on a tiny
smartphone screen; No perhaps not.
(4) In the end I wanted the data to be readable, the sources available, but no
photos, and that is why I choose a GEDCOM platform app, like Family Bee.

Personal choice of course, but in the end I wanted all my data readily to hand
when I visit the local archives or library, and I find that a GEDCOM app more
than meets the bill for this.

Pocket Genealogist is for older Windows phones.

Families is designed to work only with Legacy. I have it on my Galaxy

Charles,

Families most definitely does work with Legacy 8. I have a iPhone & iPad,
but I know that Malcolm Green (Families developer) has updated both the iOS
and Android versions to work with Legacy 8.

Charles,

I took this from the LUG archives from 21 Dec 2013:

"Families 2.0 for Android is now available from Google Play. It should be
available in the Amazon Appstore, Nook store and SlideME within a few days,
subject to review. This version supports Legacy 8.0.

Please also update Families Sync to 2.0.0."

I notice now there are up to version 2.0.3
