RE: [LegacyUG] SourceWriter Template and IGI question
Thank you Jenny, I did as you suggested and found additional information about the particular IGI film, however, I did experience a potential problem that some may wish to be aware of. Instead of searching on a name, I clicked on the IGI Records to search, and entered the Batch Number and Sheet Number which found the particular record that I was looking for, however, when entering the Batch Number, Sheet Number, and entering the Source Call Number into the Film Number field the results were "No Items Found." Apparently the Sheet Number and Serial Number are the same, because I found a screen that contained a field for "Serial/Sheet Number." The Legacy SourceWriter template does ask for a Reference Number, however, I haven't found a correlation between Serial/Sheet Number and Reference Number. (I am really peeved that the new FamilySearch site has no direct link from film number to title of film and often no item number. Sometimes just a placename is given and one finds that the film referred to has records for several churches, so one doesn't even know which at Church the event took place. I have complained!) -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp

I would caution using the Film No. as the Call No. Libraries may put a Call No. on the film box. RE: [LegacyUG] SourceWriter Template and IGI question
Charles, Only some IGI entries will have those other fields. They wouldn't be under different terminology though.
