Re: [LegacyUG] Report Formats
I don't use genealogy software to write reports...it is just too boring. That way I don't have to worry about the software's shortcomings, only my own. Hi. So you make your own custom bbdb events with notes? How do you handle the duplicate events that Legacy automatically puts in in certain reports? Just ignore them? Re: [LegacyUG] Report Formats
Hi Dick, Maybe it is because we use the events differently. I record 1 event per source so I know exactly which source said what. If I have 4 sources that show birthdates, I would have 4 birth events. The "official" birth, baptism, death, burial dates reflect the cumulative information that I've found, but the events show all the possibilities including the sources that have typos, or are incomplete. Thanks for your patience explaining it to me. I had never thought of your solution before. - Evelyn On Thu, Jul 7, 2016 at 7:20 PM, CE WOOD wrote: > Be sure to submit this to Legacy via the Suggestion route. > > > CE > > -- > Date: Thu, 7 Jul 2016 21:27:11 -0400 > From: nixon.d...@gmail.com > To: legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com > Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Report Formats > > I don't have a problem with the vital dates at the top of the report, part > of the header with the name. Re: [LegacyUG] Report Formats
Imagine the birth data listed as the first event-name, date, place, and notes, just like any other event (residence, occupation, etc.) If you click the chronology tab on the main screen, it does it "right". All together in one place. Same for death, etc. Notes stay with the other data. Try printing an Inv. Report including Chronology pages to see the difference.
