Re: [OSM-legal-talk] SPOT image usable for OSM?
Yes you can as OSM is explicitly mentioned in the EULA for OSM. Of course you must think about what SPOT service the EULA stands for. However, you may not use the OSM editor Potlatch, as integrated on the OSM website. Listed are JOSM / Viking and Merkaartor only. I do not know why, but it is not on the list of allowed software to use. Maybe because they want us to make quality derived works of their data, and want to prevent the data soup some starting users success to build ? Makes no sense to me, but that's their terms and they're entitled to set them! There is actually some WMS service for SPOT5 images of New Caledonia hosted by the NC government accessible via JOSM. Maybe because they want us to make quality derived works of their data, and want to prevent the data soup some starting users success to build ? You don't get any less offensive, do you, Gert? Sheesh. It could be also read as compliment, that user making data soup will stop to do so rapidly. ;-) -- Sincerely Hendrik Oesterlin - email hendrikmail2...@yahoo.de ___ legal-talk mailing list legal-talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/legal-talk
