Any > idea why not? You have to create one yourself - if it exists it is read, but Leo doesn't create it by default. On a unix system it should be ~/.leo/myLeoSettings.leo - just make a @settings node and copy the nodes you want to modify over from LeoSettings.leo. It's probably better to copy over only the nodes you want to change, copying everything means you don't pick up some changes made to the LeoSettings.leo when plugins etc. are upgraded. To make the things clear: my initial message about navigating to ~/.leo/myLeoSettings.leo (which is a valid leo outline, hence my will to treat it like any other regular outline) via the open file dialog wasn't meant to be a complaint.
