You have to create one yourself - if it exists it is read, but Leo doesn't
create it by default. On a unix system it should be ~/.leo/myLeoSettings.leo -
just make a @settings node and copy the nodes you want to modify over from
LeoSettings.leo. It's probably better to copy over only the nodes you want to
change, copying everything means you don't pick up some changes made to the
LeoSettings.leo when plugins etc. are upgraded.

Well, that was obvious. Thanks!. Now my next related question, I have
a LeoSettings.leo file but no myLeoSettings.leo file anywhere. Any
idea why not?

Yes. To make the things clear: my initial message about navigating to
~/.leo/myLeoSettings.leo (which is a valid leo outline, hence my will
to treat it like any other regular outline) via the open file dialog
wasn't meant to be a complaint. I just threw my two cents so it could
remain indexed and eventually help other people who will face this
minor issue in a scenario similar to mine.

Like Ville, I just open it from the Help menu. Does that work for
you?
