We have to let go at some point. Now seems a decent enough time.

+1 from me too.

Gmane Gateway

2007-08-28 Thread Randy McMurchy
Hi all,

It appears that the Gmane email-to-news gateway is broken right
now. Gmane shows nothing for today, yet there have been many
messages sent to the various groups.

I don't have access to my regular email right now, and must
use mail2web, so if this is a redundant message please disregard.

Test logs for 6.3

2007-08-28 Thread Dan Nicholson
If anyone has clean test/build logs to contribute for the 6.3 book,
please tar them up and post them with a hardware description.
Preferably Ch. 5 and Ch. 6, but just Ch. 6 will do. They will
eventually go here:

http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/build-logs/

I have logs for the Ch. 6 tests form a Core Duo laptop. These were
generated from jhalfs, which makes it really easy if anyone is
interested in helping out. I'll be uploading them later today some
time.

P.S. Same goes for development/

I know that many folks strictly use the news feed for LFS information.

Is this something broken on our end, or Gmane's?

I think there's issues with gmane, actually. I noticed that threading
got broken on a couple lists I casually read online. Note that the
last post to lkml and the git list (both very high volume lists) was
almost 24 hours ago.

http://news.gmane.org/gmane.linux.kernel
http://news.gmane.org/gmane.comp.version-control.git

And here's an interesting post from the gmane maintainer from a couple days ago:

http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.discuss/11126

Hopefully that gets worked out.
