Well, most time one isn't studying the book line by line but using it just for
searching. Not to wast too much time. And sometimes one can't do the
building in one time. So, if you don't read about cd-ing, not to do it might
happen =8O

Right.
But! If the question is asked again and again? Isn't that a hint for
improvement?

And mine added :-)

glibc-2.8-20080929.tar.bz2

2009-06-29 Thread Matthias Feichtinger
That one mentioned in the book isn't present neither at
http://www.gnu.org/software/libc/ with a different size, nor at
ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/glibc/snapshots/glibc-2.8-20080929.tar.bz2
There are a lot of glibc-2.8, but which one to choose?
Thanks for any help!

What about cfdisk?
AFAIK no danger just in looking at partition table, just beware of
"write"
Only XP doesn't accept partions and formating by cfdisk ;-)

vt = virtual terminal, similar to console
vi or emacs, whatever you like
gpm is a server for pointer, extrremly usefull for copy and paste, so you
needn't to know too muc about bash for the moment.
lynx for reading the book and with the pointer you can copy any
issue in the book.
Everything of that present now?
