I'm running XP Pro , all updates. I have 4 Gb of RAM and this happens on a newly booted machine with nothing else running. The file is stored locally and not on a network device. I have Dropbox and Google Drive running, and this file is in Dropbox. I have no latency issues with any other file in Dropbox, apart from the .ODG files. I can't hazard a guess as to why it takes so long; I had a hell of a time getting the table in and organized to a reasonable size and shape. The Table Wizard is no help at all. The table was copied from LibreCalc as a block of cells, and in an ideal world should have pasted in as a simple block of cells without formatting apart from borders. Sometimes other .ODG rawings open immediately and sometimes not. Productivity suffers. This is very beneficial if you have to change several cells, because then you can easily adapt that background color to the other cells, because the function kepts the last used color and does not change it to the color of the current cell. It is not useful if the background color function would show the current background color of a specific cell, because you use this function especially to adapt a new color to this cell and not to see the color. If you want to see the background color of a selected cell, then you can use the following steps: 1. Right mouse click on the cell 2. Go to FORMAT CELLS... 3. Go to the tab BACKGROUND 4. The used color is framed /quote -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64834] FILEOPEN: LibreDraw: takes MINUTES to complete
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64834 --- Comment #2 from Fred Mason fr...@dccnet.com --- I took your suggestions and made an experiment. I copied a document from the folder inside the Dropbox folder and placed the copy on the Desktop. I then re-booted the computer and launched the document directly by double-clicking on it on the Desktop. The result is the same; it still takes approx. 5 minutes to launch. Open Office (the latest version: 4.0.3.3., downloaded yesterday) launched and then we went into the long not responding delay. Oddly enough, watching the Windows Performance Monitor, CPU usage was virtually at idle (2 - 3 %)during the entire delay, and then at the very last moment, there was a burst of CPU activity (approx. 20 - 39=0%) with soffice.exe and the document opened. I made a small change to the drawing, saved the file back to the desktop, quit and immediately re-booted OpenOffice and opened the document. Same result; a delay of 5+ minutes. Once the document opened, I attempted to open another .ODG file from the File menu, and we went back to a multi-minute delay before it too eventually opened. Distinctly odd. I worked with these files extensively about over several months and only had the occasional delay. Now it seems to be every time. If there are any performance parameters or something I can watch while the delay takes place, please let me know. I'm perfectly willing to set up TeamViewer if you want to log on to this machine and watch it yourself. There's a new checkbox option in 4.0 (see Bug 36324 ) that helps with this problem. (Options - Language Settings - Languages - [] Ignore system input language). Now the user can select the language they want for a run of text, and if this box is checked, LibreOffice will completely ignore the locale info coming from the MS keyboard. The screen display jumps by multiple lines - approximately 1/3 of the document window-height on an 1600x1200 display - when the cursor reaches either the top or bottom edge of the document display. So, for example when you reach the bottom of the screen the screen will jump up by e.g. 10 lines bringing the cursor up by these 10 lines. Then the cursor travels down to the bottom causing the screen to jump up again. So your gaze has to jump up something like every 2 seconds if you want to keep an eye on the cursor. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64842] New: Accessibility - high-contrast inverse theme(s) (white FG, Black BG) not applied to documents.
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64842 Priority: medium Bug ID: 64842 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: Accessibility - high-contrast inverse theme(s) (white FG, Black BG) not applied to documents. Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux (All) Reporter: zane.s...@gmail.com Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.0.2.2 release Component: Libreoffice Product: LibreOffice Created attachment 79632 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=79632action=edit Calc with black theme (High Contrast Inverse) on Ubuntu 13.04 Setting the system theme in Ubunut 13.04 to High-Contrast Inverse (white text on black background) does not reflect on the actual document being displaying. In Writer and Calc the document background is still white. This did not work this was in the past (granted, it has had its quirks). Given that many individuals require a high-contrast black style theme to do their work, it is important that the document reflect their system's settings when they choose a theme for accessibility reasons. I and a few others I know simply cannot use this version of LibreOffice due to this change. I also took a peek at Impress, but dont' really use it much so I personally cannot attest to how well it adapts. I can say that the background looked like it adapted, but many boundary lines could not be seen. Though I made the priority normal, to those of us who need this functionality, it is extremely important. I have added a screenshot of Calc as an attachment demonstrating this problem while using a black theme. I am not sure if this affects other distributions or OS at this time.
