[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68689] UI: Rulers only available in tenths increments

2013-09-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68689

--- Comment #4 from Tomaz Vajngerl qui...@gmail.com ---
Well, this would require additional changes in ruler as tick divider would need
to be 62,5 (125/2) which is not an integer and there is no MAP_1TH_INCH. I
will try to change this in master to 1/16 but for LO 4.1 I will only change it
to 1/8 as this is really a simple change.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68809] New: flickering, rendering text and menus inaccessible

2013-09-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68809

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 68809
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: flickering, rendering text and menus inaccessible
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: laur...@unityinfinite.net
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Hello,

I have previously done a bug report about the same issue in connection with
Load/Save - General - AutoRecovery/backup here:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67831 , but the flickering
rendering text and menus inaccessible still exist. This time with the 4.2
alpha, but I have found that it is not necessary related to the the Load/Save
features.

As previous time with version 4.1 I had checked the settings:

- Save AutoRecovery information every 5 min
- Automatically save the documents too
- Always create backup copy

This time I had copied a text from internet with picture illustrations when it
first started. And as previous time I had to open a new document to access the
settings and turn them off. When I had done this and clicked Ok the flickering
stopped. But after a while, while the options above was turned off, the
flickering started again. If I do not remember wrong it was when downloading
the last pictures in the document. The downloading was done automatically by
Writer while scrolling further down in the document. Meaning, it was not by
manual copy/paste from the internet page. I solved it by activating the options
above in a new document, and then deactivating them again. Meaning clicking Ok
twice.

Update: this is reproducible with LO 4.2 on OS X 10.8.4. When opening a .mp4
file in LO presentation media player I get The format of the selected file is
not supported..

Interestingly this does not happen with LO 4.1.1.2 on OS X 10.8.4, where the
file get's played. I do hear audio but don't see anything. Adding keyword
regression.

Setting platform to ALL.

Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 9fed8a5e4a4c45d6a08260e9480ca6b43254b120
TinderBox: MacOSX-X86_64@43, Branch:master, Time: 2013-08-29_07:14:27

I'd love to raise the importance of this. If a dev agrees please proceed. If
the legacy file formats wmf or avi are supported, much more the more frequently
used mp4 format should be properly supported.

--- Comment #1 from LaurentZG laur...@unityinfinite.net ---
For reproduction try to copy a large text on the internet with several pictures
and paste it into Writer. Let Writer download the pictures by itself. Format
all text from the original font to something else. Scroll down the document and
change the font sizes for the paragraph headings. As going down towards the end
of the document the flickering should start.

Alternatively try to begin with the settings mentioned in previous post
activated.

display without any rotated rectangle. I only see rectangual items in the odt

Hi,

I'm glad that it solved your problem, but unfortunately it didn't solve *our*
problem, that in your case LO imported the frame with a wrong size. And since
you didn't provide a test document, there is not much that can be done, because
how the developers can fix it, if they can't even reproduce it?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67917] Moving by word right moves to the beginning of next word, not end of current word on OS X

2013-09-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67917

--- Comment #8 from Boris Dušek m...@dusek.me ---
Hello James, now I looked into the OS X HIG and found this:

Shift-Alt-right arrow: Extend selection to the end of the current word, then to
the end of the next word.

It's at
https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/documentation/userexperience/Conceptual/AppleHIGuidelines/KeyboardShortcuts/KeyboardShortcuts.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40002725-SW2

While this is not Alt-right arrow but that with Shift added, it can be
deduced from that how Alt-right arrow behaves - it should move to the end of
the current word, then to the end of the next word, i.e. the cursor is at the
end of some word after that action.

Hi,
I confirm this boring bug and I just found how to workaround and why it seemed
not to be always reproducible:
 - in the Navigator click on the icon content view
After that there is no more collapse, on any document, with content view
selected or not.
Verified under Vista-32b with:
- Version 4.0.5.2 (Build ID: 5464147a081647a250913f19c0715bca595af2f)
- Version: 4.1.1.2 Build ID: 7e4286b58adc75a14f6d83f53a03b6c11fa2903
- Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 9b1e83c4f5922029ca7cd61b73bd0f8695aadedb
TinderBox: Win-x86@6-debug, Branch:master, Time: 2013-08-28_09:32:22

A simple way to reproduce the problem again is to use a new profile

I added the keyword regression because this workaround is not necessary with
previous versions (verified on versions 3.3.4 and 3.5.7 under Vista-32b using a
new profile)
Regards

Hi Nicolas

Thanks for taking time to report bug in LibreOffice.
Unfortunately, it is unclear to me how does it manifest itself and how one
could check whether issue is fixed or not.

Please do two things:
1. Check newest LibreOffice version (at least 4.0.5, preferably 4.1.1) and
report whether this is fixed or not.

2. Create example document that can be used for verifying this issue. It should
be the simplest example that shows a bug. Since all attachments are publicly
available, it should not contain any private data.
Please write in comment exact steps to reproduce issue on this particular
document, what is actual result and explain in details what would you expect
instead (writing like Excel is not detailed enough, because some people are
unable or unwilling to install Excel and check how does it act in similar
case).

  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)

Created attachment 85018

The file where you delete newlines, but upon opening see them again!!

Hello,

There is a file that I save as a Word 2003 .doc file - to be compatible with
other peoples' software.

I take great care to remove unnecessary newline (unnecessary paragraphs), but
when I open the .doc document again after saving - it has not saved all edits.
Therefore the file now is not 4 pages but 8 ugly pages long. I am embarrassed I
have sent this to people, relying that edits would be saved.

Extremely annoying that such a very basic thing could not be done - to save the
paragraphs as I intended.

I no not need to remove all blank paragraphs, by the way. Just like in this
text submission form, there are cases when you want to create space between
paragraphs with newline, not by formatting paragraph spacing.

Perhaps it has something to do that there are some comments in the file,
however I need to make comments to collaborate with people.

I would appreciate knowing whether this is something that can be fixed. I want
to use LibreOffice, but I must be able to cooperate with users of windows and
Ms Office.

Sincerely,

Roberts Klotins

Libre Office hangs up when I intent to save a larger Writer document (17,1 MB,
153 pages). The problem seems to be in the process SearchFilterHost.exe that
runs wild at the end of the storing process. LibreOffice can be recovered when
killing this process manually.
Smaller texts opened simultaneously could be saved without any problem.
I tried to install several local versions of Libre Office 4.1.0 to 4.1.2 and
found the same behaviour in all of them. I did not try it on different
computers so far.
The operating system installed is Windows 7 version 6.1 Build 7601: SP1.

Maybe the original code did this because the docs mention Monospaced, but
googling around I see plenty of examples of setting real font names via

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48851] VIEWING: Random display corruption of headings in document

--- Comment #40 from Jon Grossart j...@grossart.net ---
(In reply to comment #38)
it never happened in 3.3 or earlier (OO.org before that).
It started in 3.4 and has been getting less
  frequent, but still happens.

so I'm updating version field to 3.4 all versions.
not reproducible on my 4.1.1 final release under Win7 64bit (but I know it's
 an hard to reproduce bug).

have you tried upgrading to 4.1.1? do you still see this? and how frequent
it is? once in a week? every day? does it happen just with .odt or even with
 .doc?

what about graphic cards? do your computers have the same card or not?

If you look at the earlier comments, it's listed on the computers I've seen it
with.

2 different AMD cards (same computer) and with Intel GMA 945 (Atom netbook) and
on Intel HD (don't remember which one, core i3 based from a few years ago --
maybe HD 3000).

It's happened up through 4.1.0. I haven't seen it on 4.1.1, but I also have
worked on those documents since then.

It happens consistantly, but not reliably. It's only using .odt files.

Since these documents are the only ones I've seen it on, I have a feeling it
has to do with the amount of ordered lists I'm using. It's basically pages of
lists.

It rarely shows up on a cold start of the program. It usually happens after
opening and closing several documents and working on them in one instance of
the program.

If I just open and close and repeat, it doesn't seem to happen. It happens more
when there has been actual time open in the program as well editing and saving.

I haven't seen it happen in the little bit I've played with these docs in
Ubuntu either. I have a feeling it's a Windows specific bug, which most of the
developers don't use.

As I've also said, it doesn't affect the data itself, only the on-screen
representation and any exported PDF once it happens.

(In reply to comment #7)
Todd, is this bug here still an issue with new versions of LO?

Hi James,

Upgrading from 4.0.x to 4.1.x was a nightmare. All of the 4.0.x programs/files
were left behind and 4.0.x was fully functional alongside 4.1.x. I had to do a
full removal of both packages, no easy feat, and then reinstall 4.1.x.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68823] New: [RTF] Grey zones for fileds don't work

2013-09-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68823

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 68823
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: [RTF] Grey zones for fileds don't work
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: vulc...@gmx.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.1.2 rc
 Component: Libreoffice
   Product: LibreOffice

An official declaration of bads effects for ANSM (french administration for
health, similar like FDA) use RTF file. LibreOffice could not use grey zone for
field where people must write their informations like their name, ...
It's work fine with MS Office 2007 SP3 Basic (12.0666.5.5003)

1) Go to
http://ansm.sante.fr/Activites/Cosmetovigilance/Signaler-un-effet-indesirable-lie-a-l-utilisation-d-un-produit-cosmetique/%28offset%29/1

2) Downlaod La Fiche de déclaration d'effets indésirables suite à
l'utilisation d'un produit cosmétique (04/05/2012 (save with this name
Cosmeto_Fiche-declaration-effet-indesirable_Mai2012.rtf see attachement)

3) Open osmeto_Fiche-declaration-effet-indesirable_Mai2012.rtf and try to use
it.
The grey zone are small and you can't write on it. There 4 pages in libreOffice
