I nominate bug 70596 because we can't ask users to have users / testers to live
with broken packages on their install.

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] The garbage into the dev-builds.libreoffice.org

2013-10-23 Thread ape
Hi, Florian

The reason for my 1st message is very simple. I use NT-5.1/2, but I do not
know which configurations should be at my computer. LibO-Dev_4.2.0
MSI-packages are used different MS_VCR (2010 and 2012), and as a result,
have different bugs.

Best regards, ape

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] Updating Whiteboard/Keyword Wiki - Need Input

preferred? Should I strip the wiki to the minimum with very basic
info or include the details needed where someone could technically
use the wiki without additional input in a relatively cohesive way?

IMHO on the wiki, it only makes sense to have a 'staged description' of
whatever workflow. That is, have one description that covers the usual case
short and sweet and a second page/section with all the gory details. Both
should link to each other of course.
This is to:
- not scare away newcomers with too much detail
- allowing people to add details without bitrotting the short description into
  a long and winding one.

[Libreoffice-qa] [ANNOUNCE] Tag libreoffice-4.1.3.2 (on branch libreoffice-4-1-3) created

2013-10-23 Thread Christian Lohmaier
Hi all,

The tag libreoffice-4.1.3.2 (AKA 4.1.3 RC2) has been created on the
libreoffice-4-1-3 branch.
The branch will be used for fine tuning of the 4.1.3 release. (It is
the last scheduled RC)

The following rules apply to the branch:

+ preferably just translation or blocker fixes
+ only cherry-picking from libreoffice-4-1 branch
+ 2 additional reviews needed; 2nd reviewer pushes
+ no regular merges back to anything

The 'libreoffice-4-1' branch is still active and will be used for the
4.1.4 bugfix release. Please read more at
   http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/4.1#4.1.3_release
   http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/Branches
   http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Release_Criteria

To checkout the tag, use

./g fetch --tags
./g checkout -b tag-libreoffice-4.1.3.2 libreoffice-4.1.3.2

Linux distro packages might find source tarballs at
http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/src/
They will soon be available from the official page together with the builds.

Attached is the list of changes against 4.1.3 RC1

[Libreoffice-qa] [ANN] LibreOffice 4.1.3 RC2 test builds available

2013-10-23 Thread Christian Lohmaier
Hi *,

for the upcoming new version 4.1.3, most of the builds for RC2 are now
available on pre-releases (Windows still pending)
It is the last of two planned RCs - see the plan here:

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/4.1#4.1.3_release

Grab the builds from here here:

 http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/

If you've a bit of time, please give them a try report *critical*
bugs not yet in bugzilla here, so we can incorporate them into the
release notes. Please note that it takes approximately 24 hours to
populate the mirrors, so that's about the time we have to collect
feedback.

NOTE: This build is in a release configuration and _will_ replace your
existing LibreOffice install on Windows.

The list of fixed bugs relative to 4.1.3RC1 is here:

http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/src/bugs-libreoffice-4-1-3-release-4.1.3.2.log

So playing with the areas touched there also greatly appreciated -
and validation that those bugs are really fixed.

Special thanks to all QA, developers, bugreporters who did make this possible.

Björn did write a script to create some bug-handler stats - you'll
find the number of bugs along with the names in the wiki (
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Releases/4.1.3/RC2#Thanks_to_all_who_took_part_in_handling_the_issues
)

Of course also big thanks to contributors who do great work in other
areas that cannot be put into numbers!

Thanks a lot for your help,
Christian

Is 5.1 == XP SP3??
If so, all builds with VS2012SP1 (Which should be 39-42) shoulb be
working, don't know about 6. Anyway I guess 6 has an older version
installed...

Reason is a change that disables creation of installer packages unless
one specifies --with-package-format with the corresponding flag.

http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=8fc7e560db11f424362c8effdeb61eb8d1526256

So please contact the corresponding tinderbox admins, point them to

Hi Christian, Thorsten, all

Thank you for the information. However some of the Windows tinderboxes

I'm re-adding Thorsten in the loop (he is the admin for #42) just in case he

BTW Thorsten could you please rename your TB to Win-x86@42 (with a lower
case x)? See explanation for this below

Why do you think this is wrong? It was available for a few days and now a

week...

If you are really interested in testing it you can still find it at some

Hope this helps ;)

@Samuel: I DO reproduce with first versions of LibO
 - LibreOffice 3.3.0 OOO330m19 (Build:6) tag libreoffice-3.3.0.4
 - LibreOffice 3.3.4 OOO330m19 (Build:401) tag libreoffice-3.3.4.1
 - LibreOffice 3.4.0 RC1 OOO340m1 (Build:11)

but I do NOT reproduce the procedure described above with OOo or AOO:
 - AOO 4.0.0
 - AOO 3.4.0
 - OOo 3.3.0
 - OOo 3.2.1
So the bug was may be different in OOo. Could you give a procedure to
 reproduce on OOo?

You're right: I just have a quick test on AOO 4.0.1 on MacOS and the bug cannot
be reproduced.

I'll we try another check this afternoon on a Windows machine with a portable
version.

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 70792

Summary: n'ko digits in user interface
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: ckair...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: UI
   Product: LibreOffice

In N'ko, we have our own digits. Here are the n'ko digits :
߀
߁
߂
߃
߄
߅
߆
߇
߈
߉
Is it posible to replace the latin digits by the above n'ko digits ? I know
that fix that might be complicated because of %d, %f
This efature is not only for n'ko. Eastern-arabic and Hindi numerals are not
supported.
PS : don't forget that n'ko is a RTL language, then to write the number one
hundred twenty three (123), we write 321 with n'ko digits.

Hi every one!
I have tested again with Libre Office version: 4.1.2.3 Build ID:
40b2d7fde7e8d2d7bc5a449dc65df4d08a7dd38 downloaded from the Document Foundation
and installed in openSUSE 12.3.
I can confirm that checking Tagged Format PDF check box is cause for missing
hiphenation signs in the exported PDF file.
Sorry for my earlier misinformation. On that time I did not realize that not
PDF/A1 but the tagged format is the reason for missing hiphenation signs.

New-Excel2010-functions-causing-error-in-Calc.xlsx

Excel 2010 introduced a couple of functions, aiming to improve precision of
existing functions and to replace them in the long run. Of some of these new
functions, LibreOffice has equivalents and direct mapping between Excel and
Calc is possible (see
(http://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Calc/Drafts/Treatment_of_new_Excel_2010_functions),
but this mapping is not yet implemented.

I tested some of these functions for those direct mapping is possible. How to
reproduce:

Please have a look at attached Excel sheet (workbook
Functions-requiring-arrays and workbook Functions-requiring-two-values) and
import it in Calc. Just change the source values and Calc will recalculate the
formulas showing errors on all new Excel 2010 functions.

I tested the import/export with:

CHITEST (O.K.,old function)
CHISQ.TEST (- ERROR, although direct mapping possible)
Floor (O.K.,old function)
Floor.precise (- ERROR, although direct mapping possible)
Ceiling (O.K.,old function)
Ceiling.precise (- ERROR, although direct mapping possible)
CIINV (O.K.,old function)
CHISQ.INV.RT (- ERROR, although direct mapping possible)
CHIDIST (O.K.,old function)
CHISQ.DIST.RT (- ERROR, although direct mapping possible)

There are some other new functions in Excel 2010 which I did not test. You find
them listed here:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68903] FILEOPEN: CSV files with .xls suffix are opened as Writer documents

2013-10-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68903

--- Comment #7 from Maxim momonas...@gmail.com ---
(In reply to comment #6)
The real problem is the file assocication, (.csv is associated to writer,
not calc. In fact there is no memtion of calc in the .csv file association.
I will open it in openSUSE? I would assume LibreOffice does not set-up the
 openSUSE file associations.

If calc sets up file associations, let me know and I will open a new one
 against Calc.

There is no bug in LibreOffice for sure, as Calc's .desktop file does define
the association with .csv files. The problem might be in your
distribution\desktop environment. It's easy to check: You should navigate to
/usr/share/applications, locate the libreoffice-calc.desktop file, and open it
in a text editor. The line starting with MimeType= should contain 'text/csv'
entry. If it's there, then the bug is in your desktop environment (KDE?).
Otherwise you should report it to your distribution. But before reporting the
bug, I suggest also to check the .local/share/applications folder in your user
profile, which might override your global system settings.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67117] EDITING Behavior of bullets when pressing the return button: only add a bullet when text is added

2013-10-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67117

Hello.

It would be great that while hitting the return button to space, you could
still see a light grey bullet that does not leave a mark (like in PowerPoint).
This way it would let you know that you are still on bullets mode.
The bullet would turn black, the moment you started typing.

If these changes are accepted, could you give an estimate about when will they
be implemented?

Thank you very much.
Vicente.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68818] Filesave: Office hangs up at saving a larger file in odt format

2013-10-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68818

Same thing happens here, LibreOffice 4.1.2. I'm working on a large ODF document
(300+ pages) with several full-page images in there for good measure. This bug
happens fairly randomly, but when I make some changes to the document, the
document is saved, but then LibreOffice immediately hangs (toolbar stays greyed
out).

I'm forced to kill LibreOffice, andafter that my processors load fluctuates
between 60-90%, even though seemingly no processor-hungry processes are
running. I'm forced to restart my computer in order to get things back to
normal.

One more thing I noticed is that after LibreOffice has crashed, Windows
Explorer prevents me from opening the properties window of the ODF file I just
tried saving. LibreOffice's recovery program also crashes should I let it try
to recover the file.

Iäm using Windows 7 Home with SP1

climaker-generated cli_oootypes.dll misses all UNOIDL entities starting with
toplevel module com (and only contains the handful of entities starting with
toplevel module org). This is a regression introduced with the new types.rdb
format in LO 4.1.

Mirosław Zalewski mini...@poczta.onet.pl changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 Status|NEW |NEEDINFO

--- Comment #9 from Mirosław Zalewski mini...@poczta.onet.pl ---
Hi

Krunoslav, Thomas, Urmas: could one of you provide example document or detailed
steps to reproduce, starting from fresh user profile?
When you do, please change status of this report back to NEW. Until then, let's
leave it as NEEDINFO.
Sophie could not reproduce this issue, I have failed either. Since we don't
have consensus here, I think it's better to remove NEW status from report.

I have noticed that File - Send - Create new master doc will fail if opened
file does not have Heading 1 style definition. You can create that definition
by either:
a) applying Heading 1 style to any paragraph
b) changing Heading 1 properties (change interline or whatever)

Be aware, that style definition might be inherited from template used to create
document.

So, this will result in error message:
1. Open LO with new, never used before, profile directory (use
-env:UserInstallation=file:// command line switch)
2. Create new Writer document
3. File - Send - Create new master doc
4. After specifying filename, LO will show error

It doesn't matter whether you save document or not before step 3. Apparently,
language and locale settings don't matter either.
But if you apply Heading 1 to any paragraph, or change heading 1 properties,
before step 3, then LO will successfully create new master document.

I think that you might have run into issue mentioned above and mistakenly
thought that UI language plays a role here. Which would be understandable, as
many master document quirks are not documented.

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70608

--- Comment #1 from Dominique Boutry dominique.bout...@laposte.net ---
Suggestion :

Scenario : your text is mainly with a font size 11, with some parts in font
size 16 (that you want to revert to font size 11) ans some parts in italics
(that you want to preserve).

Prerequisite for my suggestion : the desired target attributes are those of the
underlying paragram style (the ones you get with a Ctrl-M).

Proposed solution :
- select all the paragraphs where you want your normalisation to take place,
- set font size 16 for all (direct attribute, OK...)
- set font size 11 for all (...all Font Size direct formatting has gone, and
only this attribute)
Same processing for all the direct attributes you want to erase.

Not a Bug.

The MATH user's guide states (§ Changing the appearance of formulas Changing

forget to revert it back to its original value when the work is finished !).

A default value by Writer doc would be great. An enhancement, not a bug.
