(In reply to Rainer Bielefeld Retired from comment #2)
 Steps how to reproduce:
 1. open attached sample document
 2. Select 'Connector' from Draw Toolbar.
 3. Start Connector line 5cm below top 2 rectangles group and approach to
bottom line near red line, try to connect:
You will find many points to snap the connector
 4. Click 'Edit Glue Points'
Expected: Custom Glue points should become visible as in yellow rectangel
 below
Actual: no Custom Glue points visible in group object
 5. If necessary make visible Glue Points Toolbar and add some Custom Glue
 points
Nearby bottom border of blue rectangle
Expected: additional Custom Glue Points visible
Actual: CGP becomes invisible when you insert next
 6. Try similar to steps 1-3
You see that th CGPs have been inserted, the problem really is that they
are invisible.

Reproduced.

OK. Galaxy is not supported anymore, that’s an understandable reason, even if

(In reply to V Stuart Foote from comment #28)
IMHO Galaxy as implemented looks garish and
 cartoonish

But come on. Replacing Galaxy by a theme even more cartoonish which looks
non-native on Windows is not really an appropriate solution.

But I’m done. I’m fed up to argue on this. I won’t reopen.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89889] New: EDITING: Searching Styles from the Styles and Formatting panel (sidebar)

2015-03-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89889

Bug ID: 89889
Summary: EDITING: Searching Styles from the Styles and
Formatting panel (sidebar)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.1.2 rc
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: adria_...@hotmail.com

==this is an enhancement request==

Problem description:
It would be really handy, apart from having the option Search for Styles in the
Search and replace dialog (Edit menu), to be able to search for specific styles
directly from the Styles and Formatting panel at the sidebar.

Steps to reproduce:
Open the Styles and Formatting panel at the sidebar (F11)
Select a paragraph style.

Current behavior:
If, once the style is selected, I want to highlight the instances where that
style is applied throughout my document, I must open the Search and Replace
Dialog, check the checkbox Search for styles, select that specific style and
click on Search all.

Expected behavior:
It would be really handy to have an item on the context menu, when
right-clicking a specific style from the Styles and Formatting panel at the
sidebar (apart from New, Modify and Delete) like Select, which would do the
same as the Search for styles function at the Search and replace dialog
(highlight all instances of that particular style throughout the document).
An alternative would be to add that same item (Select), instead of at the
context menu, at the top icon (still at the Styles and Formatting panel) called
New style from selection, or next to the paint bucket icon.

Thank you

UX-Design. Resolved Wontfix--again.

UX-Design decision was, and remains, Tango as default--absent a more
appropriate icon set. Galaxy remains unsupported without source files and is
not an appropriate icon set. IMHO Galaxy as implemented looks garish and
cartoonish--it would be no improvement to return default on Windows to Galaxy.

Tango and Sifr are cleaner and are both being actively developed and maintained
by LibreOffice devs.

For current builds of master we've obtained KDE Breeze set default for KDE5, to
compliment Crystal (default KDE) and Oxygen (default KDE4). And, Sifr is now
default for OS X builds.

https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/13859/ , which would have unilaterally set
Galaxy as default icon set on Windows, is correctly being rejected in
CodeReview.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87672] Moving Impress view tabs to slide pane

--- Comment #12 from Cor Nouws c...@nouenoff.nl ---
Comparing current with proposed:

For Handout:
Current:
 click Handout
Proposal:
 choose View Handout

Where does that leave the tab state of Normal/Outline/Notes?

For Slide sorter
Current:
 click Slide sorter
Proposal:
 choose View Slide sorter
click to hide the Slide panel, for full space, which is what one wants with
the slide sorter.

- Where does that leave the tab state of Normal/Outline/Notes?

Change to other state:
 Choose menu View ...
or fist unhide the Slide panel to see the Tabs again.

- There is no natural link between the position of the tabs, and the frame that
they act upon.
- The Tab state does not consequently reflect the state of the frame that they
act upon..

Can't we place some icon-controls at the left side of the horizontal scroll bar
in the middle pane? There is space for all of them, all the different states
are properly reflected, the position reveals the frame they act upon...

Confirming on Windows and Linux with 4.4.1.2 as well as with recent builds of
master.

The w:drawing element is lines 55 - 4417 in the document.xml of the OOXML
.docx archive. Drawing contains an inline graphic structured as a lockedCanvas.

It all looks to be reasonably opened and closed in the XML tags.

The OOXML documnet is well formed in Word 2007 and Word Office 365. But on
opening into LibreOffice 4.4.1 the graphic is not being rendered into the
document.

[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 89608] TOC: Redesign of the Entries tab of the Index/Table dialog

2015-03-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89608

--- Comment #14 from Heiko Tietze heiko.tie...@user-prompt.com ---
We talked about the scope and as stated on G+ doc the redesign is for the tab
'Entries' only. All other content should remain as it is, for now.
But I have to admit that at least I wasn't considering the index type. The
interaction is awful. Do you think we should redesign the complete dialog?
Small steps or the big fish?

LibreOffice HEAD won't run

2015-03-08 Thread Piet van Oostrum
Hello,

I am trying to compile LibreOffice from master (commit
3b585737ff6bda7d28dd293465f5061ad5006f6e) but it will not work. I want to test
a patch that I developed for a bug that I found earlier. I have applied this
patch to the sources of 4.4.1.2 (from the tarball) and it works there. But I
also want to check if it works on HEAD. When I compile I get an error message
from the unit tests. And then when I run it, it crashes. So I wonder if HEAD is
supposed to be a working version.

And now the details.

I am working on a Macbook with Mac OS X 10.10.2 (Yosemite). I have run
./autogen.sh --with-ant-home=/Users/piet/Downloads/Developer/apache-ant-1.9.4
--with-junit=/Library/JUnit/junit-4.10.jar --enable-python=no
and then
make verbose=t 21 | tee build3.log

I had to use --enable-python=no to compile it, otherwise thew compilation
failed (I will address this in a separate message).

The compilation ends with an error:

Fine.

One last bitter comment then: I find it quite amusing that (quoting the comment
on Gerrit) the platform with the most of our user base is the only platform
we don't have a specifically tailored icon set for (although again, in my
opinion, we do have it, but we just refuse to set it as default).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89804] Private data left in styles.xml of empty document

--- Comment #1 from Joel Madero jmadero@gmail.com ---
Hi Massimo B -

I am going to toss this into NEEDINFO status. We need the following:

1. Instructions on how to reproduce this from scratch - while it is awesome
that you provided your styles file - we really need to know how to reproduce
from a blank document. Enumerated is best:

1. Open writer;
2. Type multiple lines of test;
3. Set style

Etc... Be explicit about every step and keep it simple.

2. Tell us what exactly we're looking for in that styles.xml sheet - while it
says that there is private data, the text is quite long so it's best to point
out exactly what you expect not to be there;

3. A simpler example (styles.xml) would be helpful as the current on is pretty
complex

Once you do the above please set the bug to UNCONFIRMED. Thanks for your
understanding, patience, and support!

  Hardware: Other
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated 3 days ago or with LO Debian
package 4.3.3.2, overlining in reports doesn't work.

1) Open Base and create a new hsqldb embedded file
2) Create a simple table
3) Create a report from this table
4) Select a field on the report, then right click and select properties if
they're not present
5) Select ... next to Font
6) Select 2nd tab, Font effects
7) Select Single in Overlining
Preview is ok
8) Click Ok button
The overlining isn't present in the report
Repeat 5) 6)
Overlining is set to Without!

Reproducible with LO 4.4.1.2, Win 8.1.

This is due to that the path is shown in the General tab and if it is longer
then the dialog has to be wider to show it and if it is wider then the tabs
have no longer to be splitted on two lines. Therefore, I am not sure
respectively I don't think this is a bug.

2015-03-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 89894
Summary: [Feature request] Cover page templates / More quick

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rderooij...@gmail.com

I'm using the latest LibreOffice-fresh, but what I'm really missing is some
default cover pages like all the newer versions of Microsoft Office have. It
makes it really easy to make a report look decent.

Making a nice looking cover page in LibreOffice takes more time, and
unfortunately, there aren't that many templates on the LibreOffice site.

It would also be nice to have more quick styles available, like MS Office does.
I like LibreOffice a lot and those features would make it even better.

Maybe it should stay the same size with the two rows of tabs, but have the
location scrollable like in the Windows file property dialog, or just have it
with the one row of tabs, also with the scrollable location.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89893] New: When a document is in read-only mode, Edit-Track Changes-{Next, Previous} Change are greyed out

2015-03-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 89893
Summary: When a document is in read-only mode, Edit-Track
Changes-{Next, Previous} Change are greyed out
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.1.2 rc
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: r...@sc3d.org

When I open a read-only document, I can see the changes (using Edit-Track
Changes-Show Changes), but I can't go from one to the next using Previous/Next
Change, so it's hard to be sure I've seen them all.

This may be related to #65781, although I don't see why merely looking at the
changes should require the document to be editable.

Effect Start options are disabled on text 1 when group is collapsed and when

Add close() to SfxInfoBarWindow.

We may need to be able to close the infobar programatically
(whereas currently it's only possible to close the infobar by pressing
the close button), hence the need for a close method.

This is needed for cases where the infobar may contain a button linked
to an action that resolves the issue that triggered the infobar, meaning
the infobar can be closed while that action is being carried out.

Do I understand that right, that you want the whole cell (not only the text
in the cell) to look like selected (marked as blue as if you select the
  whole sheet)?

yes i want to select the whole cell, not the text in the particular cell..

Hello sabaridevi,
you can select whole cell with mouse - click in the cell and hold the button
down, drag the cursor into an adjoining cell and back to the original cell,
release the button. The cell stays selected. You can not do this with Crtl+A.
This is not a bug.

LibreOffice 4 and Python on Yosemite

2015-03-08 Thread Piet van Oostrum
Hello,

When compiling LibreOffice 4 (both 4.4.1.2 from the source tarball and the HEAD
from Git) I have trouble including Python.

Before this I had compiled LO 4.3.5.2 on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) and
everything went without problems. Just ./autogen.sh (without any options) and
make.

However I wanted to switch to LO 4 and therefore I had to go to a newer version
of Mac OS X. I installed Yosemite (10.10.2), and now it couldn't find Python
anymore.

I have included part of the logfile below. The linker complains about not being
able to find the library -lpython2.7, as there is no corresponding -L option.
Also I don't know why it wants python 2.7 as I thought LO 4 wants Python 3.3.
Maybe it is because the standard python invocation on my system is 2.7, and 3.3
must be invoked as python3.

I also tried to include --enable-python=internal but then it couldn't find it.
So I wonder how the LO build gets its internal Python: does it compile it from
source or does it make a copy of a Python on your system?

So I ended up with --enable-python=no, which I don't like.

Is there a way to get it to find the proper Python on my machine?

PS. The reason I want to compile LO myself is that I have some bug fixes that
I want to submit to gerrit, but I want to test them first on the newest version.

proportion in the page. I agree that it doesn't work properly in the case of

How big is your file ?
Does it contain lots of images ?

As none of us in QA are likely to have a document that long, how do you expect
us to be able to try and repdocue the problem ?

If you can provide your file so that we can test, perhaps we might be able to
move further on this ?

Setting to NEEDINFO until requested information or test file provided.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87672] Moving Impress view tabs to slide pane

2015-03-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87672

--- Comment #13 from Cor Nouws c...@nouenoff.nl ---
Comparing current with proposed:

For Handout (not related to master slides; only problem is that it's broken at
the moment bug 80866):
Current:
 click tab Handout
Proposal:
 choose View Handout

- Where does that leave the tab state of Normal/Outline/Notes?

For Slide sorter
Current:
 click tab Slide sorter
Proposal:
 choose View Slide sorter
for full space, which is what one wants with the slide sorter:
click to hide the Slide panel,

Change to other state:
 Choose menu View ...
or fist unhide the Slide panel to see the Tabs again.

General issues:
- There is no natural link between the position of the tabs, and the frame that
they act upon.
- The Tab state does not consequently reflect the state of the frame that they
act upon..

Different approach: can't we place some icon-controls at the left side of the
horizontal scroll bar in the middle pane? There is space for all of them, all
the different states are properly reflected, the position reveals the frame
they act upon...

 Hello,
this is not a bug. Percentage is calculated per column, see attachment.
Specify version where it works as you want - I tested with LO 3.5 and
 behaviour is still the same.

Thanks for your feedback. Therefore, this means that this is no bug, but maybe
the help can be developed a little bit further with some hints in the future,
that the users can more easily understand how it works. But for me this is no
real bug, because it already says Displays the percentage of the data points
in each column.

@Andy raal: Would you agree to close this as Not a Bug?

Introducing CoreHacks

2015-03-08 Thread Markus Mohrhard
Hey,

our EasyHacks are a nice way for new contributors to start working on
LibreOffice and get a feeling for the code base. As we discussed in the ESC
we are not doing a good job to help these people migrate from solving
EasyHacks to doing normal LibreOffice development independently of a mentor.

The problem of not being able to help them means that some of them are
stuck in working on EasyHacks for a long time. This creates several
problems for us:

* no new blood in the core developers
* experienced developers solve tasks that need core developers as mentors
* may interesting projects are never done

To mitigate these issue I'm pleased to announce Core Hacks (ideas for a
better name are appreciated), the missing step between Easy Hacks and core
developers. A Core Hack is still a mentored task but requires more
independent work from the developer. I have created a wiki page [1] where I
currently list the ones that I know and where you can add your own ideas.

I ask all developers to look out for people who have solved a few easy
hacks already and who should maybe move on to the next step.

Regards,
Markus

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89608] TOC: Redesign of the Entries tab of the Index/Table dialog

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89608

--- Comment #14 from Heiko Tietze heiko.tie...@user-prompt.com ---
We talked about the scope and as stated on G+ doc the redesign is for the tab
'Entries' only. All other content should remain as it is, for now.
But I have to admit that at least I wasn't considering the index type. The
interaction is awful. Do you think we should redesign the complete dialog?
Small steps or the big fish?

I don't agree with the Dave in his general notion. Modal dialogs structure the
workflow, improve safety, and are a common interaction method. However, there
are some use cases where modeless interaction is desirable. Libreoffice
introduced sidebars therefore that offer all flexibility. So I think this
ticket can be closed.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89883] New: Unable to find myv_RU localization work for continued translation work

2015-03-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89883

Bug ID: 89883
Summary: Unable to find myv_RU localization work for continued
translation work
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Master old -3.6
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Localization
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rueter.j...@gmail.com

We are unable to locate previous translation work that has been done.
How can we continue?

Some localization work has been done for myv_RU (Erzya), it must be 3.6 or
previous.

Now that work has been done to enable the Voikko speller and hyphenater, which
enables spell checking in minority languages, we would like to begin work on a
version of LibreOffice compatible with this work: 4.1 or newer.

To facilitate future translation efforts we would appreciate the presence of a
Russian parallel text.
