[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89889] New: EDITING: Searching Styles from the Styles and Formatting panel (sidebar)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89889 Bug ID: 89889 Summary: EDITING: Searching Styles from the Styles and Formatting panel (sidebar) Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.4.1.2 rc Hardware: Other OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: adria_...@hotmail.com ==this is an enhancement request== Problem description: It would be really handy, apart from having the option Search for Styles in the Search and replace dialog (Edit menu), to be able to search for specific styles directly from the Styles and Formatting panel at the sidebar. Steps to reproduce: Open the Styles and Formatting panel at the sidebar (F11) Select a paragraph style. Current behavior: If, once the style is selected, I want to highlight the instances where that style is applied throughout my document, I must open the Search and Replace Dialog, check the checkbox Search for styles, select that specific style and click on Search all. Expected behavior: It would be really handy to have an item on the context menu, when right-clicking a specific style from the Styles and Formatting panel at the sidebar (apart from New, Modify and Delete) like Select, which would do the same as the Search for styles function at the Search and replace dialog (highlight all instances of that particular style throughout the document). An alternative would be to add that same item (Select), instead of at the context menu, at the top icon (still at the Styles and Formatting panel) called New style from selection, or next to the paint bucket icon. Resolved Wontfix--again. UX-Design decision was, and remains, Tango as default--absent a more appropriate icon set. Galaxy remains unsupported without source files and is not an appropriate icon set. IMHO Galaxy as implemented looks garish and cartoonish--it would be no improvement to return default on Windows to Galaxy. Tango and Sifr are cleaner and are both being actively developed and maintained by LibreOffice devs. For current builds of master we've obtained KDE Breeze set default for KDE5, to compliment Crystal (default KDE) and Oxygen (default KDE4). LibreOffice HEAD won't run
Hello, I am trying to compile LibreOffice from master (commit 3b585737ff6bda7d28dd293465f5061ad5006f6e) but it will not work. I want to test a patch that I developed for a bug that I found earlier. I have applied this patch to the sources of 4.4.1.2 (from the tarball) and it works there. But I also want to check if it works on HEAD. When I compile I get an error message from the unit tests. And then when I run it, it crashes. So I wonder if HEAD is supposed to be a working version. And now the details. I am working on a Macbook with Mac OS X 10.10.2 (Yosemite). I have run ./autogen.sh --with-ant-home=/Users/piet/Downloads/Developer/apache-ant-1.9.4 --with-junit=/Library/JUnit/junit-4.10.jar --enable-python=no and then make verbose=t 21 | tee build3.log I had to use --enable-python=no to compile it, otherwise thew compilation failed (I will address this in a separate message). The compilation ends with an error: /Users/piet/Downloads/LibreOffice/core/postprocess/qa/services.cxx:231:(anonymous namespace)::Test::test forced failure - creating com.sun.star.wizards.agenda.CallWizard caused com.sun.star.uno.RuntimeException unsatisfied query for interface of type com.sun.star.loader.XImplementationLoader! /Users/piet/Downloads/LibreOffice/core/postprocess/qa/services.cxx:231: Assertion Test name: (anonymous namespace)::Test::test forced failure - creating com.sun.star.wizards.agenda.CallWizard caused com.sun.star.uno.RuntimeException unsatisfied query for interface of type com.sun.star.loader.XImplementationLoader! Enumerated is best: 1. Open writer; 2. Type multiple lines of test; 3. Set style Etc... Be explicit about every step and keep it simple. 2. Tell us what exactly we're looking for in that styles.xml sheet - while it says that there is private data, the text is quite long so it's best to point out exactly what you expect not to be there; 3. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89894 Bug ID: 89894 Summary: [Feature request] Cover page templates / More quick styles Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: rderooij...@gmail.com I'm using the latest LibreOffice-fresh, but what I'm really missing is some default cover pages like all the newer versions of Microsoft Office have. It makes it really easy to make a report look decent. Making a nice looking cover page in LibreOffice takes more time, and unfortunately, there aren't that many templates on the LibreOffice site. It would also be nice to have more quick styles available, like MS Office does. LibreOffice 4 and Python on Yosemite
Hello, When compiling LibreOffice 4 (both 4.4.1.2 from the source tarball and the HEAD from Git) I have trouble including Python. Before this I had compiled LO 4.3.5.2 on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) and everything went without problems. Just ./autogen.sh (without any options) and make. However I wanted to switch to LO 4 and therefore I had to go to a newer version of Mac OS X. I installed Yosemite (10.10.2), and now it couldn't find Python anymore. I have included part of the logfile below. The linker complains about not being able to find the library -lpython2.7, as there is no corresponding -L option. Also I don't know why it wants python 2.7 as I thought LO 4 wants Python 3.3. Maybe it is because the standard python invocation on my system is 2.7, and 3.3 must be invoked as python3. I also tried to include --enable-python=internal but then it couldn't find it. So I wonder how the LO build gets its internal Python: does it compile it from source or does it make a copy of a Python on your system? So I ended up with --enable-python=no, which I don't like. General issues: - There is no natural link between the position of the tabs, and the frame that they act upon. - The Tab state does not consequently reflect the state of the frame that they act upon.. Different approach: can't we place some icon-controls at the left side of the horizontal scroll bar in the middle pane? Introducing CoreHacks
Hey, our EasyHacks are a nice way for new contributors to start working on LibreOffice and get a feeling for the code base. As we discussed in the ESC we are not doing a good job to help these people migrate from solving EasyHacks to doing normal LibreOffice development independently of a mentor. The problem of not being able to help them means that some of them are stuck in working on EasyHacks for a long time. This creates several problems for us: * no new blood in the core developers * experienced developers solve tasks that need core developers as mentors * may interesting projects are never done To mitigate these issue I'm pleased to announce Core Hacks (ideas for a better name are appreciated), the missing step between Easy Hacks and core developers. A Core Hack is still a mentored task but requires more independent work from the developer. I have created a wiki page [1] where I currently list the ones that I know and where you can add your own ideas. I ask all developers to look out for people who have solved a few easy hacks already and who should maybe move on to the next step. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57341] Modal dialogs are a horrible user experience
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57341 Heiko Tietze heiko.tie...@user-prompt.com changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |FIXED --- Comment #4 from Heiko Tietze heiko.tie...@user-prompt.com --- I don't agree with the Dave in his general notion. Modal dialogs structure the workflow, improve safety, and are a common interaction method. However, there are some use cases where modeless interaction is desirable. Libreoffice introduced sidebars therefore that offer all flexibility. So I think this ticket can be closed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89883] New: Unable to find myv_RU localization work for continued translation work
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89883 Bug ID: 89883 Summary: Unable to find myv_RU localization work for continued translation work Product: LibreOffice Version: Master old -3.6 Hardware: Other OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Localization Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: rueter.j...@gmail.com We are unable to locate previous translation work that has been done. How can we continue? Some localization work has been done for myv_RU (Erzya), it must be 3.6 or previous. Now that work has been done to enable the Voikko speller and hyphenater, which enables spell checking in minority languages, we would like to begin work on a version of LibreOffice compatible with this work: 4.1 or newer. To facilitate future translation efforts we would appreciate the presence of a Russian parallel text. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
