[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123100] New: FILEOPEN XLS LibreOffice doesn't indicate the 256 column limitation of the format when editing XLS files

2019-02-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123100

Bug ID: 123100
Summary: FILEOPEN XLS LibreOffice doesn't indicate the 256
column limitation of the format when editing XLS files
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: libreoff...@nisz.hu

Description:
The XLS file format has a 256 column limitation, LibreOffice Calc warns the
user when saving a file as XLS with more than 256 column of content. However,
when an XLS is opened, the user interface shows all 1024 columns as available.
It would be better from a user experience standpoint if only 256 columns were
shown when an XLS is opened. If the user saves the files as ODS or XLSX, the
interface could be updated, and all 1024 available columns could be displayed
again. Microsoft Excel already does that, and shows only 256 columns as
available when editing an XLS file.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open an XLS file in LibreOffice Calc.
2. See the number of available columns.

Actual Results:
1024 available columns are shown when editing an XLS file.

Expected Results:
Only 256 available columns should be shown when an XLS is opened.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

How would you do it? I was expecting that indentation at right makes the line
break, which does happen but then the page numbers are indented as well. The
solution could be to right align the page numbers independently from the
indentation but that's a regression for users who wants the number to be
indented. Regina, what do you think?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121040] Different row height calculation in Linux and Windows in specific ODS

2019-02-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121040

--- Comment #11 from Serge Krot (CIB) ---
When visually number in cell is bigger than width of the cell: LO writes in
this cell "###". In this case we see much bigger height of the cell comparing
to the same cell with smaller number. It looks like that actually cell height
is taken from formatted real big number but not according to height of the
"###".

If we modify our test case:

Under Linux we have: For the value "-39170" which is displayed as "-39.170,00":
- It is shown with bigger height with "-39.170,00" value.
- If you add "any" digits in it (for example "-139.170,00") the cell height
will be the same (bigger) with value "###".
- If you remove "any" digits in it (for example "-3.917,00") the cell height
will be smaller (normal) with value "-3.170,00".

Under Windows we have: For the value "-39170" which is displayed as
"-39.170,00":
- It is shown with smaller (normal) height with "-39.170,00" value.
- If you add "any" digits in it (for example "-139.170,00") the cell height
will be bigger with value "###".
- If you remove "any" digits in it (for example "-3.917,00") the cell height
will be smaller (normal) with value "-3.170,00".

Re: How do I add a new configuration item to registrymodifications.xcu

2019-02-01 Thread Heiko Tietze
I wrote a blog post some time ago about how to make a feature optional. It
comes from a non-developer/layman perspective to encourage people to look into
the code. Perhaps it’s a bit helpful.

tdf#123077 gtk3_kde5: Set KFileWidget's custom widget only once

Since the event filter is only used to set the custom
widget in the KFileWidget, it can and needs to be removed
again once this has been done; which also avoids crashes.

(s. https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/67185/ for more
infos, where the same thing is done for kde5)

I found sufficient examples to use; so far chart2 (where I'm currently working)
does use officecfg:: yet.

Indeed, "time" isn't declared in
https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/include/svtools/htmlkywd.hxx?r=aad9c6da
and so unknown as a html tag.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123098] New: LibreOffice Writer hangs on opening ods document (page number always changing in status bar)

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123098

Bug ID: 123098
Summary: LibreOffice Writer hangs on opening ods document (page
number always changing in status bar)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: andrej.skvort...@gmail.com

Description:
We've experienced that LibreOffice 6.1.4 (and higher) hangs (100% CPU
consumption) on opening existing ODS documents. We have a lot of documentation
based on the same template, that we successfully use since LibreOffice 4.

I've tried to remove as much as I can from original document to reproduce the
problem. Minimal document is attached as it's render in LO 6.0.7.

If the document is open on 6.1.4 and higher, then LO hangs and number of pages
in status bar is changing constantly ("Page 1 of 4" to "Page 1 of 5" and back).
But the document has only 2 pages (6.0.7 reported 3 pages).

Problem exists in 6.1.4.2 (AppImage), 6.1.5~rc1 (from Debian/Buster), 6.2.0.1
(AppImage), 6.3.0.0.alpha0 (AppImage).

LO 6.0.7 does work correctly.

Steps to Reproduce:
Open attached document and monitor CPU usage.

Actual Results:
LibreOffice hangs with 100% CPU consumption.

Expected Results:
Open document.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
OpenGL is disabled
