Should I report them as well, or > do you already have enough bug reports for now? If you have time to report each of the 10 problems individually, you can do that. Before reporting bugs, it would be much safer to do a reset to factory settings in order to be sure that the problems you see are not solved, but unseen, because of a corrupt user profile. Factory Reset: Help - Restart in Safe Mode - Restart - and check the 2 options from Factory Settings. If the bugs are still there, before reporting you can try to search for existing bugs, then, if not already reported, you could report them. If you mixed them in one bug, the bug will be closed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 155384] Fixed width paste does not sample enough input data
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155384 --- Comment #13 from ady --- (In reply to Pierre Fortin from comment #12) > (In reply to ady from comment #10) > > So... rather than fixing what I consider a rookie coding error, the user is > expected to abandon work on a HUGE spreadsheet (often 14-15M rows) Let me clarify my comment then. There is indeed a problem. The fixed-width selection should not trim the second/last column. Additionally, the width of the last column should not strictly depend on some kind of scanning or look-up of the first few rows. The current result acts as if the second column's width was somehow selected/delimited, but the user didn't do that. The problem is that the last column's width is limited in the dialog and it seems it cannot be marked in any way in order for it to be wider. (At least the data is not completely lost.) Having said that, care should be taken if solving this issue, I could imagine some case in which someone complains in the opposite direction (e.g. the last column is too wide and contains unwanted characters, not seen in the dialog). It seems as if somehow some lookup is performed in order to hint about some columns' widths; when solving this problem, care should be taken not to delay the dialog too much (for instance if there are many columns and many rows). I am able to overcome the case by using the "Separated by" alternative when importing the first time the csv (no need to copy after the initial import), but, again, this is because the relevant column is not the _last_ one. So, clearly, there is some problem when importing, with the "last" column's width. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 155384] Fixed width paste does not sample enough input data
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155384 --- Comment #12 from Pierre Fortin --- (In reply to ady from comment #10) More specifically to your points... > While I can reproduce it when copying from the already-imported first column > (by selecting the first column _only_), it can be easily avoided when > initially importing the data (using either "Separated by" or "fixed width"), > precisely because there is more data on the right-side (duplicated in this > case). So... rather than fixing what I consider a rookie coding error, the user is expected to abandon work on a HUGE spreadsheet (often 14-15M rows) that takes 4 minutes just to load on a very capable CPU: Processors: 20 × 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-12700K (4@5GHz, 12@4.9GHz, 4@3.8GHz) Memory: 125.5 GiB of RAM and 2TB + 4TB SSDs + 44TB on 6 platter drives in order to save a few milliseconds finding the max width of the incoming data? > OTOH, I think users shouldn't expect to look-up 7900 rows (or whatever) just > in order to find the data format before suggesting the columns' width. That > would probably be inefficient. Compared to 4 minutes to load a large file; that's not even noticeable. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 155384] Fixed width paste does not sample enough input data
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155384 --- Comment #11 from Pierre Fortin --- Created attachment 187409 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=187409=edit Number of supported rows (OT) I don't think I said, suggested or implied that many rows need to be inspected. Questions: - What is the logic behind adding another [hidden] split point based on the first row(s)? - The request is to split once between 2nd and 3rd characters in this case; why is an unspecified, unwanted additional split added? - Why is the fixed width UI limited to what is visible in the first few rows, vs allowing the user to specify how to split wider cells by adding a split bar farther the right, without having to scan the entire data? - Why even have an extra [hidden] split point? >to find the data format before suggesting the columns' width. What does the columns' width have to do with explicit split points? A suggested column's width is no reason for adding an unwanted/unexpected split point. Just accept the split(s) as specified, without adding another hidden split at the end of what is presented as examples... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144265] Relative referencing anomaly
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144265 --- Comment #5 from ady --- Still repro with LO 7.6.alpha, but only in 1 specific row – the first one in the list. This indeed is a major issue IMHO, because of user expectations and because the behavior is not known nor easily notable by common users. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144473] Removing #N/D cell from selection does not update Sum/Average in status bar
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144473 --- Comment #6 from ady --- There is no bug here. When you select a cell with and error, the status bar shows a "long" phrase for that error. In attachment 175032 from comment 2, when you [CTRL]+click on that cell with the "Not available" error, you deselect the cell, but the focus is still on the same cell, so the error is shown on the status bar. To demonstrate (just as described in comment 0), using attachment 175032 from comment 2, after deselecting the cell C4 with the error, go and press [CTRL]+click on C7 twice > now the selection is the same relevant area but the cell that has the focus (C7) has no error, so the status bar shows the specified calculated values. So, this is not a bug, just simple common behavior. Someone might want to suggest some different behavior regarding the status bar (e.g. if the function shown on the status bar normally disregards some type of error on the main area, then also disregard it on the status bar) as a request for enhancement, but that's a different issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 155384] Fixed width paste does not sample enough input data
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155384 --- Comment #10 from ady --- While I can reproduce it when copying from the already-imported first column (by selecting the first column _only_), it can be easily avoided when initially importing the data (using either "Separated by" or "fixed width"), precisely because there is more data on the right-side (duplicated in this case). OTOH, I think users shouldn't expect to look-up 7900 rows (or whatever) just in order to find the data format before suggesting the columns' width. That would probably be inefficient. [OT] BTW, 1.5M rows are not supported anyway. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

Ibus is working properly in all the other apps (Chromium, Kate, etc.). To solve this what im doing is write in kate and paste on LibreOffice or write the word, change ibus to english, do space, change again to korean and write the next word, what its actually kinda annoying. Thanks. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Set ibus to write korean (hangul) 2.Write a word 3.After the word press space and write another word 4.Use backspace to erase the word Actual Results: 1. Space wount work 2. Only last character of the word will be erased and then backspace will stop working Expected Results: 1. Space 2. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 155384] Fixed width paste does not sample enough input data
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155384 --- Comment #9 from Pierre Fortin --- 1. my first attachment was the wrong file -- no idea how that happened since that was not a file I had open. 2. sample file 2 is correct. 3. I know how to use fixed width; the issue is that fixed width does not work correctly if there are >= N (unknown to me) rows that *appear* to imply that ALL data is like these initial N samples. 4. Try it yourself: a) to see the problem as reported: - select cell D1 - Ctrl+down-arrow - do you see digits in column D? That is the issue! b) to reproduce the problem: - select column A - Copy it - right-click on E1 or any column to the right; NOT on column A-D as they already contain data at the bottom. - Paste Special > Unformatted Text - Fixed width - set the divider line between characters 2 and 3 - Note that the sample display is only 6 characters wide - OK - check the bottom rows... is your pasted data in 2 or 3 columns? Unless this bug has been fixed, you should have "AH" in column E, 4 digits in column F, and 1 digit in column G. With a huge sample of ~1.5M rows, you would see this in the bottom rows: AH, 1234, 567 vs the expected AH, 1234567 HTH -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
