[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 153721] Rename "Move Chapter Up/Down" to "Move Heading+Text Up/Down" in Navigator

2023-05-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=153721

--- Comment #19 from Jim Raykowski  ---
The fix for bug 154212 is likely what has caused the behavior change.

Give the following chapter structure, what should the result for Chapter 1.3
(outline level 2) move chapter down be?

Chapter 1 (outline level 1)
Chapter 1.1 (outline level 2)
Chapter 1.2 (outline level 2)
Chapter 1.3 (outline level 2)<-- move chapter down
Chapter 1.3.1 (outline level 3)
Chapter 1.3.2 (outline level 3)
Chapter 2 (outline level 1)
Heading with outline level 3
Chapter 2.1 (outline level 2)
Chapter 2.2 (outline level 2)
Chapter 3 (outline level 1)

Current master build result:

Chapter 1 (outline level 1)
Chapter 1.1 (outline level 2)
Chapter 1.2 (outline level 2)
Chapter 2 (outline level 1)
Chapter 1.3 (outline level 2)<-- chapter is moved here
Chapter 1.3.1 (outline level 3)
Chapter 1.3.2 (outline level 3)
Heading with outline level 3
Chapter 2.1 (outline level 2)
Chapter 2.2 (outline level 2)
Chapter 3 (outline level 1)

7.3.7.2 result:

Chapter 1 (outline level 1)
Chapter 1.1 (outline level 2)
Chapter 1.2 (outline level 2)
Chapter 2 (outline level 1)
Heading with outline level 3
Chapter 1.3 (outline level 2)<-- chapter is moved here
Chapter 1.3.1 (outline level 3)
Chapter 1.3.2 (outline level 3)
Chapter 2.1 (outline level 2)
Chapter 2.2 (outline level 2)
Chapter 3 (outline level 1)

I wonder if the chapter moves should move a sub chapter out of its parent
chapter at all.

--- Comment #8 from Telesto  ---
Well intention is to mimic word, word does allow spaces beyond margin and off
page. Factual the same way as LibreOffice handles it today. However the cursor
is placed on the next line in Word, so keeps on page instead of going off page.
So more a visual feedback thing, I guess

No that looks to be a different issue.

This is a request for a new feature: a single user event to begin recording a
macro and a single user event to stop recording then a single user event to
replay the macro.

All this without any other user interaction. The macro is stored in temporary
space.

Nice to have is some feature to request saving the macro to the macro database
under a default name (eg. timestamp) or a name of the user's choice.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 155501] New: Affordable children book illustrator Booking Now 

2023-05-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155501

Bug ID: 155501
   Summary: Affordable children book illustrator Booking Now 
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: hofapo7...@introace.com

Description:
In addition to creating illustrations, children's book illustrators also
contribute to the book's layout and design. They work closely with graphic
designers and art directors to ensure that the illustrations are seamlessly
integrated into the overall book design. This includes considerations such as
page layout, typography, and the placement of text alongside the illustrations.

https://rksillustrations.com/
https://www.kidmanpublishing.com/
https://blueberryillustrations.com/
https://www.childbookillustrations.com/

Actual Results:
Children's book illustrators may work as freelancers or be employed by
publishing houses or design studios. Freelancers have the advantage of
flexibility, as they can work on various projects and collaborate with
different authors and publishers. On the other hand, in-house illustrators may
benefit from a more consistent workload and a steady income.

Expected Results:
Ultimately, the work of children's book illustrators is crucial in fostering a
love for reading and sparking children's imaginations. Their illustrations
bring characters to life, transport readers to imaginative worlds, and make the
reading experience a visual delight. Their contribution to children's
literature is invaluable, as they help create memorable and cherished books
that inspire, entertain, and educate young readers.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
As the children's book industry continues to evolve, illustrators must stay
updated with current trends and techniques. They often experiment with various
mediums, styles, and digital tools to create visually stunning illustrations.
They may use traditional mediums like watercolors, acrylics, or colored
pencils, or opt for digital illustration software to create their artwork.

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this

I don't think this is intended. The "Move Chapter Up" is behaving as if the

2023-05-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155498

Bug ID: 155498
   Summary: Libreoffice starts slow on Linux
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.5.3.2 release

OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mich...@schoenitzer.de

Description:
Libreoffice takes ~ 45 seconds to start on my decent arch linux computer (NVME,
6-core i5, 16GB). The behavior most likely started a few weeks ago. The
progress bar is pausing quite some time on ~1/3 and again on 1/2.

I tried the following versions:
- libreoffice-still (7.4.7-2) from arch repos
- libreoffice-fresh (7.5.3-2) from arch repos
- org.libreoffice.LibreOffice (7.5.3.2) from flatpack

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start libreoffice (via menu or terminal)

Actual Results:
~45 seconds start time

Expected Results:
~3 seconds start time

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
Version information from LO about dialog (flatpack version):
Version: 7.5.3.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 50(Build:2)
CPU threads: 6; OS: Linux 6.3; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: de-DE
7.5.3-2
Calc: threaded

I tried the following – without success:
- Start in safe mode (no difference)
- Remove .config/libreoffice
- Cleared, last used in LO as well as in desktop
- Disable CUPS
- Started with and without sandboxing
- Change java version as well as disabling java

strace shows that the long start is (mainly?) due to two reads which time-out.
The terminal output shows a few errors, but I think those happened before:
```
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 155494] Cursor goes beyond margins when typing spaces at the end of a line
2023-05-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155494
--- Comment #6 from William Friedman  ---
Hi Stéphane,
I read the thread you referred to, and the current behavior of the program does
not match the request in that thread. The idea proposed there was to provide a
numerical indicator when formatting marks were visible for the number of spaces
in *justified* alignment.
As far as I can tell, this has not been implemented at all, at least in the
current version. First of all, this problem happens in all alignments -- left,
center, right, and justified. Second, even when formatting marks are turned on,
and the alignment is set to justified, no number ever appears and spaces just
go on past the margin forever.
I know we're not to supposed to reopen bugs marked as "resolved fixed," but I
can't imagine that the person who reported bug 104683 is happy with the current
behavior either! :-)
