[Libreoffice] presenter console RTL support
Hi, Is someone incharge of the presenter console extension ? While testing old RTL bugs with 3.5.0beta1, I noticed a very disterbing behavior in presnter console with RTL UI - the button you click on (visually) isn't the button which is being clicked (functionality wise) - so what you see isn't what you get. See https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42070#c2 and 2nd screenshot in the bug. Kaplan p.s. This breaks the regular workflow of the users with the extension, otherwise I wouldn't have brought it up on the list. ___ LibreOffice mailing list LibreOffice@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice

So - I think it is best to have you involved in pouring your love & graphical goodness into LibreOffice; so ... After you've listned to all the feedback, I'd love to merge your preferred changes. Having said that - the icons for the presenter console are not quite as unified as you present them - there are a large number of separate images, which are here: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/extensions/tree/sdext/source/presenter/bitmaps would it be easier to get a zip file of those ? so - essentially the changes need to be chopped up into smaller elements. If you can come up with a better set of them, and post them here - they are easy enough to commit :-) Thanks ! Re: [Libreoffice] Presenter Console
Hi Andrew, just to throw in some thoughts, since a friend of mine designed the Presenter Console quite some time ago. The "specification" can be found here [1]. The rationale of a presenter console is, that people usually don't sit in front of the computer - they present their slides to the auditorium. Thus, the large font size is intentional to make the text readable. > The issue with 1 is that the icons are inconsistent. The arrows are > filled in, but the other two icons are outlined, it just looks strange > to me. Here, two things are mixed - the arrows might not be filled, but the "fill" makes it easier to grasp the shape of the arrow (one of the few shapes people can grasp easily). The other two icons do behave different - they are not only actions, the symbol visualizes "notes on", or "slide overview on" via fill. So, again, the difference between non-filled and filled icons is intentional. Changing (only) that, removes the sense of this "status message". Consequently, if you want to change the visual design of the icons, please have in mind to substitute the "status message" with something equal. But, please don't use color, since then you'll run into problems with regard to defective vision. Hope this helps ... Re: [Libreoffice] Presenter Console
I like number 2 but i think the text needs to be a bit lighter. i feel its a bit on the dark side imho. Hi Everyone. As part of a bit of polishing of the UI of the PresenterConsole extension I wish to undertake, I want to improve the icons used at the bottom. Could you give me your opinion, as to which is best? 1st - As it currently is 2nd - Smaller font, no use of bold, 'filled' icons 3rd - Smaller font, no use of bold, 'line drawing' icons -- Andrew <>___ LibreOffice mailing list LibreOffice@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice
